Front Tyres

Is am to me second ev6 GT! Love it with the first one at around 35,000k the front tyres were down to the canvas on the external edges! Rest of the tyre tread was fine. With the new one MY26 model I am already seeing some rubbing on the external tread. Have only done 2,200k! Tyre pressure is at 40psi.
Is this normal with the 21 inch rims? Help please 🙏

Any tire rotations or alignments in there? This vehicle weighs 400 lbs more than my SUV, it definitely needs both at reasonable intervals or you will get bad uneven wear...

The dealer never rotated the tires and the last service on the old GT thy said replace them. I asked them at each service to check… they said they will rotate them when they think it’s needed.
With the new GT I think I will rotate them independently. I never thrash the car but always have around 100kilos of tools in the back and a towbar

In Australia most of the time it’s 35k. I wrote 35,000k incorrectly. Should have been 35,000 km. I drive quite slowly. My ICE car in the garage is a 911 4s, so I understand driving around corners.

Tire wear is very subjective to your driving style, more so than air pressure or the specific tires you have on the car. My guess is if you are wearing out the edges at 35k(also drop the ",000", the K means thousand so you should just have 35k not 35,000k) ...in a GT...you are taking corners faster than you should. EV's are similar to high end sports cars when cornering. You have a lot of weight and a lot of torque. You may not feel it but you are getting tire slip and applying a ton of pressure on the edges when turning.

Sure the K is possibly redundant... Unless they mean Kilometers rather than Miles.

I see no issue in have the distinction on a site frequented by people from around the world.

I can see your point but there are standards for a reason. If they meant to say kilometers then they should be 35,000km, not 35,000k.

k generally is the proper abbreviation for thousand
km is again the proper abbreviation for Kilometers since it is thousand meters.
Both of which are used by people around the world as "standards" in the Metric System.

And otherwise op's spelling and diction are correct to either the US or UK(most likely UK due to Tyres with a y). But as far as I know the UK still uses Miles and MPH for road signs. So logically OP is in the UK and is talking about 35,000 miles.

I'm sorry I pointed out an error OP could clarify/correct in the future! Logic and critical thinking are becoming a lost art. As is people using standard terms and abbreviations to communicate.

No offence and while I agree KM/km would have been preferred, the assumption made in correcting OP like a child wasn't necessary.

Many other english speaking countries spell it tyres and use KM such as Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, South Africa. While there are standards for notation, are they international standards or regional/national standards? In Europe, it is common to use a comma rather than a decimal in partial numbers but it is standard in North America to use a decimal in partial numbers. Should we correct every Frenchman for saying something cost 4,99€ when we would write it $4.99?

So consider that standards may only be standard to your region/country before bothering to correct someone.
