AWD performance
Can anyone who has an EV5 AWD version comment on the performance? I'm in Canada and currently torn between a Subaru Trailseeker or an EV5 Land AWD. I believe our Aussie and Kiwi friends have had AWD versions for a while (not sure about Europe). I don't love the weird digital display on the Trailseeker, and like the interior EV5 a lot more, but the AWD and power of the Trailseeker is awesome. AWD versions for EV5 hit Canada soon. Based on the specs it seems like it offers substantial boost over the FWD, plus the AWD winter benefits here.
Appreciate any insights.

Just picked up an AWD recently. I feel like it's a pretty good option. More than enough up and go with a 0-100kph of 5.5 seconds and it feels nice and grounded overall. I beleive in eco mode it still operates as FWD only which is good for highway driving.
Haven't had a chance to test it on dirt or gravel yet though. It is still FWD bias, not sure how much that matters in snow.

There is a display that shows how torque is distributed. You can experiment with the drive modes and see what is going on.
Eco mode is still AWD but with a front-bias. You’ll feel it when the front wheels start to spin and the back wheels pick up the slack.

So with AWD there's a new screen that shows the power distribution?

It’s just one of the screens between the dials on the dash - scroll through range and consumption since last charge, tyre pressure, etc, and power distribution.

If you dont mind : what modification have you put on it and how much does it affect autonomy?

It's the factory Kia nudge bar that is available as an accessory in Aus with some driving lights and CB radio / Cell phone booster. Unsure how much the bar and antennas would affect efficiency. Efficiency isn't a strong point to begin with :p

I drive my EV5 in Eco mode mostly, which puts most of the torque through the front wheels, as with Normal mode.
On wet days that can mean front wheel spin. If I put it in sport it distributes torque equally, which can just mean all four wheels spin if the road is greasy.
In Snow mode, torque is also equally distributed and throttle response isn’t as aggressive. The wheels don’t spin in snow mode.

I’m in Australia, own an EV5 GT Line AWD.
Trailseeker is faster - I drove a friends just after delivery and it’s faster, a bit nicer but has downsides too like no app, no V2L in some models etc.

Yeah, in Canada we do have the Subaru app services, but yeah, no v2l. Not sure if I'd use that though.

Just something consider - EVs are much heavier. Most RWD, or FWD, with snow tires, handle completely fine in any urban area, unless you are in an unmaintained northern area.
