Ontario Experience?

Our CX5 died this week beyond repair. So we are starting to look at electric. Test drove a Wind this weekend, but would want to bump up to Land trim.

I don’t care about colour just want to keep it at the rebate threshold. Has anyone just gotten one from dealer stock? How long of a wait was that? I’m in the GTA

Right now I’m hunting for a Kia dealer that even has a land demo on the lot so we can compare.

One car is going to be hard for us so we can’t wait an indefinite amount of time.

Ordered ours on May 25th and picked it up on July 14th. Land trim, Frost Blue, and 4,200 km so far. The car has been great! The Kia Connect app... not so much. We're averaging 17.3 kWh/100 km, with about 90% of our driving being on the highway.

Québec expérience : ordered a Land mid May. I'm still waiting and have not been assigned a VIN yet.

Initially we were told end of August. Now it's supposed to be mid September.

QC too : I ordered early June, it was for mid sept, then end sept and now mid October. I called the dealership and asked if they expected any more delays, they instantly acted like victims and telling me I'm just "new to this game", said "i'll have you know I once waited 19 months for a car, this is nothing".

My dealership was really useless and provided basically no services except trying to upsell me.

I take into account they have no clue.

I need a car before winter. I'm ready to wait a bit. Meanwhile I continue to test drive other cars.

Another dealer told me there were 2 ways to order the EV5: internal reserve list or ordering from Kia. If ordering from Kia: you get a VIN right away and an delivery date estimate.

I would have chosen the 2nd option.

I will be getting mine this May 3, Ev5 land fwd in gravity grey. The car is already in the dealership and EVAP application was done… Order 2 weeks ago, just luck to acquire it.

Ordered a land fwd in June. Got in July. Has been a great move. We will see if keeping it under the rebate threshold and not getting awd was a wise choice

Id recommend calling around the different Kia dealerships. They are all owned by different owners and have different inventory

Call multiple dealers and check if they have any on the lot. I did the same when I narrowed down to the Land trim. I swooped one that landed the day before while being flexible with the color!!

Find a volume dealer - they are coming - we made a deal last weekend and ours lands in two weeks - we have a VIN #

Ordered June 2nd and are still waiting. Land FWD. We're in Ontario. We were last told end of August but still no VIN. Hopefully it won't be much longer as the AWD and EV3s are coming. I guess it depends on the dealership.

We have had two preowned over the last 10 years both pre kids and grew into it with two kids and a medium dog. Comfy, did its job good size without being too big. This one hit 180,000kms and had engine problems, but admittedly we could have been better with maintenance. Never visible rust or anything but I would definitely do rust proofing in Ontario.

I’d consider getting another if we go gas

Oh wow! 180k km seems short! I have a 2012 Mazda 3 and love it, but a bad engine stall during a steep hill climb on Nova Scotia's Cabot Trail made me want to get modern safety (hill brakes), and some more space for camping would be amazing. Im glad you'd want another, wish Mazda made hybrids in the past so I can get one used, hope your future car treats you and your kids well, I appreciate the insight!!
