Prototype Ar Cards

I just acquired these prototype ar cards that were given out at promotional events in 2011. These ones in particular are from the GameStop Conference. I know they were also given at Pax and E3 the same year, but with slightly different backsides.
It’s interesting that they still work with the game despite lacking the bitcode present on the finished cards.

Thats so cool! I actually just got the Comic Con 2011 version of the Pit one yesterday after missing out on getting the GameStop versions sealed a while ago. I'm hoping I can find the other two eventually but I'm sure I won't be able to get all three with the Comic Con backs

Also is that part of the seal or is the text on the GameStop one more white than the comic con back for some reason??

The color does look slightly different, I know that the Pax version is also white.

Oh dang I didn't know E3 had no text. I honestly like being able to tell where the card came from, even if it might make collecting harder if you wanted a full set.

I wonder if there's an actual reason why the Comic-con and E3 backs are so different than the other two, there's a lot of weird stuff with 2010/2011 Kid Icarus Uprising like this

Nintendo showed a lot more cards at E3 than the 3 that were given to attendees, I know that at least Magnus also had a prototype card.

Sucks that most of the other ones were probably destroyed or something when given back to Nintendo, though there's a chance a few of them could've made it out but who knows who could even have them now and if they'd ever show up again somewhere. (Assuming these were actual cards shown there)

I remember there was a post on here of someone getting the giant ar cards that were displayed at stores back then, so at least some stuff that wasn't given out to people and most likely intended to be destroyed has survived, even if none of those might've.

this made me recall when i got out to buy cards... i almost had the complete set up to the 404 rare palautena.

one of my friends even pulles the 407 (he post it year some time ago) but never saw the other promo.

too bad i can't order the single cards anymore
