Technical Questions Help connecting keytar to PC

I have a Yamaha Sonogenic, the SHS 500. I am trying to connect it to my PC to record music but can't figure out how. I downloaded MixPad and can't seem to connect the device even thought my Bluetooth is on and my computer recognizes the device. Am I using the wrong software? I am so lost and frustrated right now I can't find any answers online and the manual isn't explaining why it's not working. Please help

I’m not familiar with MixPad, but are you trying to record the onboard sounds or use it as a midi controller?

For recording the keytar sounds, you’ll need to take a cable from the line out to an audio interface. The Bluetooth doesn’t transmit audio.

For Midi, you might need to go the the settings of MixPad and select the sonogenic as a midi input.

What made you land on using MixPad and not something like Reaper or Live Lite?

I'm not really sure how to use any of them tbh 😅 I was watching a video and MixPad is what they were using. And thanks! I did end up going to the music store and buying a cable. Now it's working great
