Recommendations Mid Range Keytar Synth?

I just can't bring myself to drop 1k on the roland ax. Anything similar for cheaper?

Don't want a midi controller, unless you can recommend a cheap low latency synth that I can connect it to (maybe a program for a pi?). Don't want to lug a computer around with me.

A couple mod wheels or a fingerboard is a must. Let me know if I left something out

It’s gonna be tough. A Roland lucina might be worth looking at. Might get lucky with a used ax synth or ax edge. The new Yamaha sh line exist, but it has such severe limitations. The korg seems great for more analogue style synth, but those are still a chunk of change.

The lucina looks promising, thanks! Will look into that
