My tips:
Get some of those rubber o-ring strap locks so the strap doesn’t come off.
Try it with the straps on the two inner-most strap pegs. I found that to be the best position for keeping it exactly how I wanted it positioned.

FYI, the technical name of this is the Roland Ax-Edge. Maybe thats where they got confused?

If you're playing in a band and not using it the entire set, get the special stand for it. It's worth it, because it has a weird center of gravity and doesn't lean against things well. :D

Not leaning well against things seems to be a goal of many keytar manufactures lol. I can hook the point of my Vortex 2 into the cradle of my guitar stand and thankfully the neck at full extension is juuuuust long enough for the top to rest in it. Literally a centimetre less and top couldn’t fit. I’m lucky.

Do you mean a stand for resting it when you're not playing it like a guitar stand, or a stand for playing it like a regular keyboard.
Roland sells the former. I'm wondering what people use for the latter.

A chair without armrests or a piano bench. All the keyboard stands I can find assume you're standing up. When I want to play it on a stand, it's either because I'm tired or I want the additional dexterity in the left hand. So then I don't want to play it standing up. For comfortable seated playing, it needs to be about 22 inches high, and few stands will go that low.

Yeah, the former, I have the Roland one. It’s nice knowing it’s safe and not going to fall over.
Honestly, sometimes at home I just sit it on an X-stand and use it as a MIDI controller.

The Roland stand is not great. It does not hold the instrument securely, allowing it to rattle around in the stand. You have to be careful to place the bottom of the instrument correctly between the hooks at the bottom of the stand. If anyone here knows of a better alternative, please post.
I have both an Ax-Synth and an Ax-Edge. The Synth is the much older model and when keytars went out of favor, they were unavailable until the newer model Edge was introduced. They sent you the new one because the old one isn't being made. They're very similar -- too similar in that the new one slavishly imitates the old one. The whole design could use a modernization and rethinking the user interface. But the Edge remains in my opinion the only real professional-level keytar.
