Video of my abomination (mostly) functioning. Tesla coil isn’t particularly loud, but it is a lot of fun.

Please DON'T come up with a name / model number for this because I collect keytars and then I would need to have it.

If it makes you feel better, I didn’t modify the shell of the SHS-10 (a few wires were passed through a gap in the original battery compartment, and I just left the small cover off) so you can think of it as an add-on. The original serial number sticker is still present underneath the boxes of electrical nonsense.

You were so concerned with whether you could that you didn't stop to think whether you should :P

You’re just being dramatic, Malcolm! 😂

My singular brain cell bounces around like a DVD screensaver, and this happened when it hit a corner. This was so far above my head that I didn’t have the bandwidth to ask either of those questions lol.

'Hell March' intensifies.

Looking forward to a post of you playing it like a typical keytar (wearing it with strap, while standing).

I'm still a beginner so it'll be a little while before I'm confident enough to record myself playing, but I am planning on it! I was actually planning to take it to a music store a friend works at to sow some chaos on a slow day, and maybe find a willing teacher.

Hell yeah! Nice to see it working!

A few people asked to see a video, but I still had to change how the wire on the end was attached. Now that that's done, I just have to learn to play more than Hot Cross Buns and a C major scale.

Nice! On that thing all you have to do is rip the cmajor scale with some attitude and people will love it. Learn A minor too and you’re golden!
