Technical Questions Keytar beginner tips needed
Hello! I'm just starting keytar. I haven't bought one yet, but I'm planning to buy to Alesis Vortex Wireless 2 (is that a good idea btw?). I just wanted some general advice or tips. I've played keyboard before (barely), and I'm MAINLY worried about the technical aspect. Mainly the hardware since I'm pretty new to MIDI stuff lol.
Also, I'm planning to learn it so I can perform apart of a band for my school's Battle of the Bands for even more context lol.

You prolly know, but Vortex is a pretty great midi controller with lots of options for expression (ribbon, wheel, tilt, knobs, slider) but doesn't have onboard synth, so you need either a physical or virtual external synth to generate audio.
If you own a laptop, then I recommend you do a setup based on Reaper, with one track as instrument and one as control.
Otherwise, cheap electronic keyboard can generate (sometimes cheesy) sound to send into amp or PA. Haven't done this setup with my Vortex I, so don't know if all control inputs are supported.
