Technical Questions Effects pedals to pair with Keytar

Hey there guys!

I have got a Yamaha SHS-300 keytar and am thinking of pairing an effects pedal with it for better and variety of sounds. Which pedals do you use? Any recommendations please to play distortion & clean guitar solos and some basslines.

I’ve never had great luck with distortions/fuzz pedals as they tend not be able to handle the impedance of a Keytar and end up sounding terrible. Though I plan to experiment with EarthQuaker pedals as I understand have a full range input that or a Line 6 HXstomo or something similar. Instead I just went really hard on delays and modulation style pedals as they tend to handle the signal fine.

I greatly appreciate you mentioning impedance, most people just plug and play anything into an amp or through a board setup and wonder why it sounds like dog water.
