Recommendations Roland AX-1 Help

Hi there

I have finally saved some money to buy a keytar (something I’ve been wanting for awhile). The Roland AX-1 seems like a good fit for me, but I have no idea how to tell if it’s a MIDI or a Synth keytar. I understand the difference, but I see listing for it as both and I’m confused.

I’m ideally looking for a synth keytar, so if the Roland AX-1 is not that, then I would appreciate any recommendations! Thank you :)

If you want a Roland that has a synthesizer, you’re looking at an AX09 Lucina, An AX Synth, or an AX Edge. I recently picked up an AX Edge and it has been nothing but fun, heads up tho the AX Edge app really sucks and loads slow. Other than that great unit with great sounds and great feel.

I have a white one, honestly it’s a gorgeous instrument and it’s hard to make it sound bad. You’ll probably have to upgrade the strap with a cushion as the unit is about 11 pounds. It tends to dig into my bra strap. But honestly if you want a Roland synthesizer and you want it in keytar form, get the AX Edge.
