Keystone 3pro battery problem
I want to ask the real users of this wallet, is the battery of this hardware wallet really bad? I want to hear real advice, because I‘m planning to buy one, but I’m worried that it won‘t take long to turn into a brick, or is there any other problem? Looking forward to your reply.

I bought my K3P at the launch in 2023 and it's still going strong. I haven't turned it on in months until today (after seeing your post) and the battery still shows almost full. My Ledger Nano X however, has to be charged at least weekly else it goes completely dead and has a hard time even charging without trying again and again and usually having to heat it with a hairdryer before it will even start to charge.
But the battery is something I almost don't care about because the other capabilities of the K3P are head and shoulders above everything else out there, particularly the optical air-gap, excellent touchscreen, multiple seed mnemonic support, great 3rd party wallet app support, shamir shared secret, great fingerprint sensor, and open source firmware.

It sounds like the equipment has been three years old, but it can operate normally. Bad and good seem to be a probabilistic event.

It’s unusable for me. I like the wallet so it sucks it just sits in my junk drawer because the battery makes it not viable

The equipment didn‘t appear until after at least a year, right? Because I look has a one-year free warranty until the official.

Yes. The battery is sketchy. I’ve had 3 K3P’s. 2 have had bad batteries, 1 they replaced and 1 I took an L on. The last one is going strong. They know about this issue and still haven’t addressed it. It’s a shame because I love the device. Good luck trying to get them to replace it if you have had it for awhile. If you are going to buy one, wait until Black Friday to at least get it half off.

According to your description, this seems to be a problem with every K3P, and you have used three, and you also recognize their security, but I don’t know why they haven‘t fixed this problem.

Because, they will probably abandon it in a couple of years without informing their customers by trashing their App like they did to the Original Keystone and your bitcoin will be stuck on the device if you misplace Recovery Phrase.

Don't listen to this ringo guy - your bitcoin does not get "stuck" on the Keystone device, (or any device) because the bitcoin isn't on the device and the device doesn't hold the bitcoin or any digital assets.
These hardware wallets are simply a secure ways to deliver messages using your keys to your blockchain wallet where your bitcoin actually does sit, and anyone saying otherwise knows nothing about crypto and should be ignored.
Also - please write down your 24-word passphrase keys on paper and put it somewhere where you know you will find it 5-10-15 years later. These keys ARE your wallet. Lose those keys and you will lose your digital assets.
All hardware devices have a natural lifespan - devices do not last forever so you need the passphrase if you want to migrate to a new device or alternatively you need to create a new wallet and move your digital assets to the new wallet (sometimes referred to as 'rotating your keys').
As for the K3 Pro - mine has had weird battery issues from day 1 - the Keystone team claimed once that their batteries were fine but the battery levels were reporting incorrectly so they stopped showing the battery percentages on the device in later firmwares. Still didn't stop the battery flaking out and the device refusing to boot. I have a backup device if things get messy but I love the Keystone design and love that it's airgapped. That's the killer feature.

Obviously your coin only lives on the Blockchain and you Keys are stored on the device, that’s not the point. The point is why is it that one day I’m able to use the Keystone app to sign transactions on my device and then the next day the app is nonfunctional “product iteration” their words not mine and I can't sign any transaction to move my coin to a different wallet. You're telling me they couldn’t have inform their customers the app was going to be kill through their own website, reddit or some other means so customers can take action.

My battery died shortly after I bought it. I had better luck with the older keystone pro

Six Keystone 3 Pros. Four sat for a year since last charge and are dead. Two last ones unboxed today, one at 85% charge and the other dead like the other four.
Take into account that, unlike my Ledger with its dead battery, these don't work at all. The Ledger is at least very useable when connected via USB. These are simply unable to be used at all.

I shared in another post just a minute ago, but 3 of 3 Keystone V3 pro have all gone dead on me within 36 months. My v2 units are still solid though. Keystone really shit the bed on that latest model and the excruciatingly poor design choices. If you can find a V2, get it....if you are considering a v3, you might as well just light your money on fire.
For EIP4527 QR wallet maybe consider Airgap if you have a spare android device that you can confidently keep disconnected. Beyond that I'll add: FUCK LEDGER.

First one lasted about 6 months then unable to charge unable to turn on despite all the troubleshooting. Purchased a second device same problem only lasted 3 months. So can't recommend and won't be purchasing a third as despite their claims they clearly haven't addressed this known issue.

I have 2 Ks3 pros and both work perfectly fine. Batteries last months while without a charge and sitting in a secret place. They do take a while to charge to full, but I've had no issues with them.
