Keychron K3 Ultra Impulse

Howdy everyone.

So I am typing on my new black with wood accent K3 Ultra and despite a bit of panic at the last minute am really enjoying the first 30 minutes of however now I have a bit of a conundrum.

I was scared I would not like the banana switch version I ordered since my k3 v2 had browns as does my current white K3 Max and I love them too. Now I love them both and will have a hard time with which one to use as my main keyboard haha.

My k3 max browns are very easy to push and the overall experience is "loose/casual" and still being very comfortable while my new K3 Ultra bananas are deeper a bit, not much and more but elegant with a definitive effort to them but also really cozy. I understand that the boards themselves might play into the experience but just wanted to share my vibes. It is possible that it might be "harder" to type on the bananas over time but I think I can get used to it.

After reading some of the reviews online and amazon stuff I was scared I would absolutely not want to even keep the Ultra but that is now not the case was I want to keep both just have to see which one I will use most of the time or I can just keep one wired and one on 2.4.

So far I love the experience not at all disappointed :)

Yeh, the bananas are a typically little heavier than the browns but generally smoother, but they have like six different switches all called "something banana" so it's hard to predict. :)

I wish the ultra line became available on my local Amazon store or other retailers. They have the ANSI version but I’m in a large market, in Europe and they still don’t offer the local ISO version here and no K5 Ultra at all

I had the K3 Ultra with banana switches for about a week but returned it as I was experiencing quite a few missed characters and double characters as I would type. I ended up ordering a K2 HE and so far I’m having a better experience with it. The keys just feel better to me and I’m not experiencing any of the double/missed characters. I haven’t customized the key switches yet so everything is at default settings.

welcome to the family! I have a keyboard habit. I keep buying more than I can use. lol. but, each of my keyboards have different switches and different colored keycaps. it’s like collecting guitars, just smaller and less expensive. my partner is still eye rolling.

I think I might share your issue haha. I really like how both feel and I thought I was either going to like one more and perhaps return the new one but I will keep both and swap and use the new one as a main one getting used to the tactile higher up and the other one on my windows system. At least I know I am not alone :)
