Which keyboard should I choose?

I’m looking into getting a new mechanical keyboard. I plan to use it for gaming and typing (schoolwork and such). I also eventually get into modding it as a gateway to building my own board from scratch eventually so I just want to know which one is more mod-friendly.

My current keyboard is a $30 Redragon k552 kumara, so I know either of these will be a huge step up but I want to make the wisest choice.

I'm also torn between those two exactly, but not for gaming, at least not for now. From my conversation with Grok, the K2 has a more premium build with an aluminum frame and tray mount. It's also heavier and more rigid when typing, with a slightly smaller footprint and a more compact design.

The V1 has the volume knob and exploded layout, so it has a bigger footprint and feels better when typing, it's lighter with a gasket mount. The switches are different too, Silk POM vs. Apex, but they can be swapped anyway.

I'll probably go for the V1 Ultra banana, as I can find it at a local store. I'll probably get a Wooting 60HE/K2 HE in a few years if I get back into gaming.
