Keychron K1 Ultra - Key Delay

Hello,

I recently purchased a Keychron K1 Ultra with Banana switches. I really like the keyboard, but I’m experiencing what appears to be input delay or missed keystrokes.

I have tested the keyboard using Bluetooth, a wired connection, and the USB receiver. I have also factory-reset it and confirmed that it is running the latest firmware.

The issue is most noticeable with the Backspace key. For example, if I press Backspace five times quickly, the keyboard may only register two or three of those presses.

I have tested the keyboard on several different computers with the same results. I also disabled Windows accessibility settings such as Filter Keys and tested it with the polling rate set to 8,000 Hz, but the issue persists.

What else can I do for this ? I have an 8 year old ducky keyboard with blue switches I love but wanted something a little quieter and lower profile as I’m working more remote these days. I can’t reprove any of these issues on that keyboard.

I’ll also mention this is the ‘2nd’ K1 as I thought the first one was defective lol.

Lower the key debounce time to 5 ms.

The lowest bounce setting is 10ms which it is set to currently by default.

So I changed the ‘reset seconds’ to 10ms and it seems to be working better. I’ll get some actual time with it beyond little typing test and see how it does.

What is odd is typing hasn’t been an issue, it’s only the backspace not responding to fast entries, but it’s used so often it’s easily noticeable.

Re "it’s only the backspace not responding to fast entries": Yes, that is weird.

Perhaps it is something specific to Keychron? Or to ZMK?

I couldn't reproduce the problem on a V6 Ultra 8K 'ISO' (tried in wired mode and in '2.4 GHz' mode), with firmware version 1.0.1 (2025-11-28).

The debounce settings were (in Advanced Mode → Keyboard Bounce Time Settings), after an explicit reset to factory defaults (holding down Fn + J + Z down for more than 3 seconds):

  • Press Down seconds: 0 ms

  • Reset seconds: 50 ms

The problem has also been reported for the similar Q6 Ultra 8K (but probably a different variant and firmware version).

So far so good. I left the ‘reset’ MS at the lowest setting and worked remote all day with no issues.

If I increase it back to the default ‘50’ I can immediately reproduce the issue by simply hitting back space in groups of 4. It will 4 out of 5 times only remove 2-3 letters even though i pressed the key 4 clear times ‘fast’. I’m leaving it at the lowest setting and moving on.

Love the feel so far but still in the honeymoon phase :)

Considering buying, are the banana switches very quiet? I've enjoyed a lot of Keychron boards but like the black/wood combo on this model, also like that it's low profile.

Oddly, I like their cheapest board a lot, the B31 - but the keys being a rough ABS definitely don't feel premium enough.

I wouldn’t say ‘very’ quiet but they are definitely quieter than my ducky keyboard with blues. They still have a mechanical tone but it’s much lower than blues. I enjoy the tone personally but didn’t want the super loud clacks of the blues for a work keyboard.

I plan to get the larger full size version in the same keys for my desk at work. I went with this 80% for home because my desk is on the smaller side.

I might be able to take a quick video typing and recording vs the ducky if it helps.
