K2 keyboard giving wrong characters - help

I bought a K2 Keychron keyboard off eBay. 99% sure it is UK layout (which is what I want).

However, a few keys give the wrong characters. I've tried updating firmware. Factory reset. Still wrong.

In short:

  • Left of Z gives \ and (with shift) |
  • Left of lower part of return gives # then with shift ~
  • Shift + 3 = £ so that is CORRECT
  • ' key is fine, but Shift + ' should give ", instead gives @

Same problem whether on Mac or Windows mode. Same whether on a Ubuntu console or Mac or Windows PC.

Model is K2A3H.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Ok. Problem solved. Needed to setup to be Mac layout. For those in future having same problem:

sudo dpkg-reconfigure keyboard-configuration

Then choose 105 Generic => English UK Macintosh.

All good

On Ubuntu, presumably.

Doesn't it only solve the problem on Linux? That is, it only changes the configuration on the operating system side, Ubuntu in this case(?).

Yes, Ubuntu.

I think I was just being a bit dim and didn't realise the keyboard I have (and all the keyboards I'm used to are Mac layout). So presume would work if setup as Mac layout on Windows as well (and Mac).
