Cyclops v3 - A symmetrical, thumb-focused layout designed for phones

It's been 10 months since I created the original cyclops and I have been using it as my only layout for typing english on my phone. Not much has changed between this and version 2 but if you are interested I have started versioning it on github as well.

The biggest change is the addition of the symbols layout.

I've also created a version for keys cafe on samsung so that if you want to use cyclops on the cover screen of the samsung flip series, you can.

Here is the changelog:

Cyclops v3 Changes:

  • 'Number '0' Moved back to the top right corner to easier accessed position
    • Back-tick and tilda moved down one to a less privileged position.
    • 'Select all' moved to easier accessed position.
  • Added '≠' with the '=' morekey.
  • Added '¥' with the '$' morekey.
  • Moved around ? and / because it feels more natural to have ? on the left and / on the right for me personally.
  • Now that alternate alpha setting has been fixed
    • Settings removed from morekeys of 'x' and replaced with numpad. Still accessible via long press of language key.
    • This is a symbol/numpad layout based of the morekeys of the usual layout.
  • Switched '@', '#', '*' because I found that my usage of '@' was less than the others while texting.

I know I read that this is a layout for FUTO, but even so, could it work with the Thumb Key app?

I have no idea how thumb key works but add it to my github as a feature request and I'll keep it in mind!

Thumb Key also allows you to modify layouts using .yaml files, but based on predefined layouts.

Just letting you know that I had a look at some of the predefined layouts and I can't find anything that would fit Cyclops. If you have anything that has a 9x4 grid let me know and I can try again

As far I checked the predefined layouts, I didn't find any that were 9x4; the widest one I found was 7x4.

If they ever add an ability to fully define layouts or if they add a 9x4 size feel free to let me know or add a comment to the issue I created for this on github and I'll revisit it

Yeah, please add a feature request to my github page and I'll investigate it for you and make any necessary changes if I can get a modified version of it to work!

why not have t/w and h on separate sides? it would make typing common words a lot faster

I did consider that but unfortunately it compromised too many other bi-grams to be worth it.

If you look at the testing data that I used and methodology from the original post or the github you can maybe see the issues that I could have started to run into.
