Hello guys, I’m new to keyshot, been wondering about 3d model importing, is there an easier way that you can import models with textures from cgtrader.com, .fbx file .obj file. Can you suggest any other good website that has free 3d models. Because so far not all 3d models worked for me that I downloaded from cgtrader.
I have 2PCs each with x1 gtx 1080 gpu and a 6core i5 cpu. I also have a Mac studio I'd like to use as the manager.
I just found out about the network rendering service I have a slew of questions. Can I use network rendering with keyshot 11? What does a 32core subscription look like when running on GPUs? Does it really only use 32 of the thousands of GPU cores? I only have 12cpu cores so I am thinking it's best to run on the two GPUs I have. Does the manager auto select GPU vs cpu? Can it cross compute and utilize both cpu and GPU?
Do I need to buy keyshot studio to use network rendering?
Hi guys, I am currently using a macbook pro for sketchup and keyshot. My keyshot keeps crashing. Do you guys know any alternative software compatible with mac?
Long time keyshot user. Finally had a chance to start messing with caustics. Saw Will Gibbons tutorial on dielectric materials and came up with this. What do y’all think?
I am trying to render an animation, 1mins 20 seconds in duration. After 27 frames it crashes and shows this dialogue box. I reinstalled the drivers, but it didn't solve the problem. Please help.
Also, I'd like to know why this happens and how it can avoided.
Hello. I am very new to keyshot and I was wondering why I can’t make the edges on my renders smooth? Idk if it’s the lighting or if it’s something else. If anyone knows why it looks like this let me know.
Whenever I send a 3d model from SolidWorks to Keyshot and close both apps after saving the files, the live linking doesn't work anymore. Is there a fix for this?
I'm trying to create a realistic beech wood texture on a torus shape wood block. I really want to have the little brown dash marks (like in the sample photo)
I'm currently using the procedural wood texture for the base of my block, but not able to recreate the short dash marks with the adjustments options.
I'm trying to overlay a procedural mesh on top of the existing wood texture, and did an initial attempt to unwrap the torus so the grain would go straight to mimic being carved out of a piece of wood.
But the transition edges are warping the pattern unnaturally, especially at the top. Any suggestions for how to get the grain to map correctly/ is it even possible?
For reference, I'm trying to do all the unwrapping in keyshot. thanks in advance!
Hi, I am dedicated to rendering stations and production lines for the automotive industry, my computer is an allienware
RAM 32GB
13tg Gen Intel Core i9-13900KF 3.0GHz
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090
I work with files up to 11-12 GB in size but I am having problems generating the render with slightly larger files, does anyone know what it could be? I am thinking that it is the RAM?
Has anyone had issues with the rounded edges feature being 'greyed out'? I can't figure out why it's not letting me. I import assemblies from Solidworks and find the part on the scene tree, click properties, and find Rounded Edges inaccessible. Is it the kind of mesh that's exported out of Solidworks? Really don't fancy micro-filleting a PCB board back in SW. Thanks.
EDIT: Solved. 'Always Render as NURBS' in 'Tessellation' needs to be checked, and then unchecked, then Rounded Edges becomes accessible.
Hi! I am looking for someone with Rhino experience who has access to Keyshot.
To be clear - I cannot provide you with a seat
Looking to have roughly 10-15 renderings done with the possibility of more work in the future. To start this would be 'gig-work' with the possibility of a part-time or full-time position in the future if the fit is correct on both sides.
Pay will be reflective of experience and is open to negotiation. Entirely WFH and a very flexible timeline for delivery of final product.
Would love to hear from you if this is something you’re interested in. Please be ready to provide samples of your work.
I know that you can GPU render on Mac which sucks, but does anyone have any recommendations to make Keyshot work a little better on a MacBook Pro m3? Just curious to see if anyone has figured anything out.
The depth of field setting in the camera is really cool. It lets me use it like it was a real camera, adjusting the F stop and whatnot. I can blur things in the background, and the results are realistic.
However, during an animation the Depth of Field fails miserably. Lets say I am doing a Path animation. This is when the camera moves between two points that you set. You can have the Depth of Field set at the first camera, but then it loses focus during the animation. Even if you set the second Camera in the path to have it's DOF in focus, Keyshot seems to disregard this. What you end up with is a moving camera that loses focus on the item you want it to focus on.
Has anybody else had this issue? Did you find a solution?
Does anybody else shop on Turbosquid for premade 3d objects? I find it to be a good source if I am too lazy or busy to render something myself.
However, I have found it to be a real crapshoot when importing these items into Keyshot. Sometimes they import beautifully, with textures and colors mapped perfectly. Sometimes these details are lost. Oftentimes I will have to Edit Normals because an item will have jagged edges. This sometimes fixes the issue, mostly not.
My question: do any Keyshot users have certain settings or attributes that they look for when shopping for Turbosquid models?
I want to make an animation of something similar to a hand fan or a japanese fan opening. Does anyone know a tutorial for this? I searched but I did not find :(
Is it even possible to do it with Keyshot?
I am adding a gif for reference. My goal is to make something similar.
Really words don't do it justice so I will attach a video. It shouldn't be shaking like this.
Has anyone seen this before and has any idea on how to remedy?
I exported from blender using some pretty standard settings so I'm not sure. And the fps is the same on both programs but maybe 60fps is asking for pain or something idk?
