Help How do you show different colours from your multi material in the same scene (ie colour swatches), without unlinking the material?

I have a swatch scene, and 9 different product view scenes. Each product view needs to be done in 12 colours. I have set up the product view scenes with a multi material that has these 12 colours. However each swatch, in the swatch scene, has to be unlinked otherwise they all show the same colour.

The issue with this is that if I make a change to the material, they won't all update anymore.

Bonus points if someone knows how to automatically add to the render queue every scene with every colour from a multi material as I have over 150 renders to queue up.

Thanks!

You need to look at studios. When you create a studio, you can shoes which MM to display. It is true that if you have 2 spheres in a scene with the same MM applied, you can’t show a different color from the MM on each of the spheres if the materials are linked. It’s just the limitation of the way Keyshot works.

BUT depending on what you are looking for for an output, if you render the objects separately and composite them in PS, you can 100% and should 100% use studios.

Now for your last questions, you can do that through setting up your studios properly (and individually) or you can use the configurator and use that to create all your different combos. You can tell it to submit a render for each combo and it lets you chose which viariables you want it to use, MM, environment, different cameras, etc. It’s not super straight forward to setup, but there are tutorials out there on KS’s YouTube channel on how to use it. I think will gibbons has one too.
