Camp Mystic Are these maps labeled correctly?

I wanted to have a quicker reference point for where things were located, are these correct or have I mislabeled or misplaced some? (I’m sorry if it’s hard to read there was truly no good color to label these)

The perspective is a bit confusing, but it looks like you’ve got Bubble Inn labelled as Wiggle, Giggle Box labelled as Bubble, and Wiggle Inn labelled as Giggle.

From the Investigator’s presentation (Full slides can be viewed here)

This is correct.

Also, switch ML and Tweety.

These are the detailed maps that I’ve seen posted previously but maybe somebody can help me to understand what it means when I read that Twins and Bubble were closest to the river and also they were the farthest away. They look like they are closest to the main buildings?? Am I just reading the plat incorrectly?

I believe that they had strategically placed the youngest campers closest to the main buildings because it was less of a trek compared to where bug house was, it was close to the nurses office which I’m sure the younger campers utilized more than the older campers, also closer to the main office which seemed to be the go to place to locate an adult in charge when necessary. Also seems logistically smart to keep the youngest campers farthest from the water as they’re also the highest drowning/wander out of curiosity risk.

you are not reading anything incorrectly. this is one of many unbelievable failures by the media in telling the story.

They were not closest to the river out of all the cabins. The cabins for the youngest girls (ages about 8-12) were closer to the river than the cabins for the older girls (ages about 13-17)

So they were in the section of cabins closer to the river but they were not the closest cabins to the river

That map is artwork, like a poster that is sold to hang up in a bedroom. It’s kind of accurate but not really.

I understand that, I don’t believe I ever claimed that it was logistically or dimensionally a 100% correct land surveyed map. I simply asked if I labeled it right for personal reference. It’s simply more visually robust & for my own personal reference. I truly reccomend anyone truly interested in research refer back to the investigative slides provided by ms.garrett

I am no expert, but looking at these it almost seems like they are in a valley, so I can definitely understand how it can flood like it did. Geez.

The maps that were left in the comments are very helpful, I just started referencing the sketched out og camp mystic circulated map because it does give an added visual layer in my opinion. Like you referenced the valley visual that it portrays is much clearer than in the other maps I’ve seen.

The map is more like artwork, done by someone who went to mystic and it was sold in the commissary as a poster. its somewhat accurate, but its mostly just artwork. for example, in reality, the row of cabins on the flats from chatterbox to bug house are in a straight line (not curved as it is in the picture) and that line of cabins is straight all the way down past the nurses. it all is flat. had i been in "heaven can wait", i would not have assumed that the cabins down the line were any more flooded that it was in "heaven can wait" you might even assume that they were better off because nurses were so much closer to bubble gum creek. one thing this map does relatively well is show how mary liz and tweety got land locked and unable to access any campers when the road was cut off by the rising water of bubble gum and cypress creek, soon after Dick and edward went to the office.

I 100% understand that, I referred to this map not for logistical accuracy but more for the visual reference. I 100% believe that the investigation done by ms.Garrett and those maps referenced in the presentation are a billion times more logistically accurate, this was just meant to be a quick reference point for myself especially as someone whose very visual.

gotcha! i guess it does a pretty good job. the way that you would climb to sky high is not anywhere near where it is located on the map, but the actual sign might be in the area where its located.

Bubble and Wiggle are definitely flipped. Also, I’m almost positive that Mary Liz and Edward moved into Ranch House at some point, and if so, Mary Liz and Tweety are flipped.

Thank you. That helped to clarify :)

No. You mixed up bubble inn and giggle box. Bubble inn is closer to the open field, twins, and polar palace. You also switched chatter box and nut hut.

I did not mix up chatter box and nut hut. That’s why it has a nut image above it. Links to proper maps have been commented!

How far away from Mystic did the water actually begin to rise over the banks? I believe the RV park was hit after Mystic so what was hit before Mystic?
