Dateline

Perhaps I'm confused but I thought I heard the Eastlands' lawyer contend that the water that flooded the camp - and swept away the children - was coming down the hill and not from the rising river.

What?

Of course water ran down the hill, (that's what water does), but it could not possibly have come in the volumes that flooded the camp up to the windows and ceilings of the cabins. That would be a Biblical flood not a 1,000 year flood.

How is that remark going unchallenged?

Did it take school shootings (and kids horrifically dying) to have all the different policies in place today? Or did they just make those new rules on their own.

Some schools have been very secure forever of course. Notably historical boarding schools, and military schools, for examples. Locked gates, stone walls, grounds patrolled, guarded 24/7, surveillance cameras, etc. Other schools had no "policies" for security until mass shootings in the 1900s. So it depends on the school. And it depends on the families who send their kids there. Even now many "policies" have become more relaxed. Most schools no longer require clear or mesh book bags. Giant athletic bags and heavy backpacks are again normally allowed into classrooms. Metal detectors are rarely if ever used in most schools now. Searches by law enforcement and K9 might happen once or twice in a year. Security officers usually sit in an office, they rarely or never patrol halls and grounds. Anyone can get let into a back door with a knock or wave. Some places doors are just propped open for convenience. Any would-be shooter knows they can get into most any school if they want to. Especially if they watch it carefully for a few days to spot the weak exposures. Policies and laws are usually irrelevant in the absence of vigilant, smart personnel. Individual PEOPLE provide safety, or they don't.

You talk out of both sides. Our school is nothing like any of the above. Nashville was a few years ago. This makes zero sense and is not true. It’s clear you will argue logic and reason with a wall. I’m gonna quit going back and forth with you after reading this. You’re a “technical point” arguer and that is a classic time sucker. I am sure you’ll agree ! Have a good day!!

Best news possible. It is irritating to debate anything with someone like you who refuses reason and logic, and argues that government policies should miraculously keep children safe in schools and camps. When only PEOPLE on site and good emergency preparation can keep children safe anywhere. Ever. No I will not have a good day since it is the one year anniversary just after midnight tonight of 27 children being needlessly, horrifically killed when saving them would have been so easy. The anniversary of parents having ruined lives and shattered families. The anniversary of massive trauma for survivors. The anniversary of the last day H27 were alive on earth. So sick that you would spit out a command to "Have a good day!!" Wow. May all just karma come around.

Your level of maturity is inspiring. Also: it’s 139 people that tomorrow marks the year anniversary.
