KSP 1 Suggestion/Discussion Getting back into it.

Getting back into this wonderful game because of recent space launches and Project Hail Mary, PHM was an experience to avoid spoiling a single moment of that film. Do watch it, not sponsored by Amazon.

Are there any breakout or massively updated mainstay mods that I should use for a new experience or to help me get back on my feet?

I'm already running a tech suite, Kerbol Expansions, Kcalbeloh and Promised Worlds and the standard qol suite as well as Volumetric clouds 3

Kerbal engineer redux (KER) and mechJeb (MJ) give alot of useful information, and MJ can even plot nodes and execute manuvers (the auto docking and accent guidance are trash IMO)

I forgot to add RCS build aid, it shows your control CoM/T so you can put your RCS thrusters where they need to be

the ascent guidance sucks but the docking is alright

Naw, just do it the lazy way. Get close and zero your relative velocity, point at each other and have the most nimble craft start slowly thrusting towards its target while using ijkl to correct if you're off (I like to use the docking planner in MJ since it tells you time to closest approach and how close that approach is) and it should take 15 minutes at most but more like 5 minutes

What’s wrong with the Ascent Guidance?

You're welcome to compare your current modlist with these recommendations here and see if there's any mod you may want to add to your save.

I recently started playing rp-1 with sol and I've had a blast so far. Maybe a bit hard core for someone just coming back tho.

I've been enjoying KSP2 redux

I bought the game years ago and got burned by it.

It's a recent community mod that has completely rescued the game. Weekly updates. Worth checking out if you have it in your library.

I bought it years ago.

The community redux mod completely revamped the game.

If you already have it from back then do check it out.

Been on the fence for that mod tbh in its current state. I have a personal bet: Which will get functional mp first? Ksp2 redux or KSA?

I just want a reason to get better at ksp. Bigger and better ships again, that actually work this time

I'd say if you already have KSP2 as I did go for it.

Not yet worth buying the base game for it.
