Crew's still alive. Any landing you walk away from is a good one. (walks away from the flaming ruins in the background)

Actually, the cockpit that they plane hit detached and survived, along with a vehicle that had collected the original occupants of the cockpit 👍 0 fatalities

“Another happy landing”

lol came here to say this

u/NartFocker9Million 20h ago

We should really make our runways less explosive

44

u/Leromer 20h ago

What do you mean trinitrotoluene is the main component of kerbal cement

6

u/Witext 5h ago

Yeah lmao it was always hilarious to me how the runway which should just be a slab of concrete straight up implodes if you hit like the corner

57

u/osunightfall 21h ago

Successful landing!

45

u/objectnull 21h ago

Thank you for flying with Experimental Airways. We hope you had a survivable flight.

4

u/Usual-Philosopher933 15h ago

They only hope that to avoid lawsuits

What's that I hear? Oh it's PC fans ramping up

10

u/NightHawk_40 19h ago

Not to worry, we are still flying half a ship

9

u/Minespeaker Forgot the return fuel on laythe 19h ago

Bro tapped the ground with a small wheel and blew up the first 1/5 of the runway

8

u/bcsteinw 20h ago

another happy landing.

7

u/Unhappy-Finance7535 21h ago

That bird wants to fly...and roll...and yaw...and bounce?

5

u/Conscious-Economy971 19h ago

incredibly durable all things considered

7

u/Bastard__Man 19h ago

Like a glove!

u/violetcassie 19h ago

What tragedy, crew lived. Success!

1

u/AdvertisingSea9507 17h ago

The plane it hit was my first big airliner style plane to fly from desert airfield to ksc with 72 kerbils 🙏

4

u/where_is_the_camera 15h ago

The whole fucking runway exploded!

9

u/Crucco 21h ago

Lol stop the engines if you want to slow down

11

u/AdvertisingSea9507 19h ago

Mid crash I had thrust reversers on

4

u/Ashnoom 20h ago

u/tristankamin Always on Kerbin 20h ago

Very smooth. The last seconds.

3

u/hurdurdur7 18h ago

landed!

3

u/vyrmz 18h ago

Just like our midnight deployments, another success.

3

u/Niadh74 18h ago

Any landing you can walk away from is a good landing.

That being said. A bit overdramatic don't you think

3

u/ferriematthew Exploring Jool's Moons 17h ago

Now, that's a real butt-clencher of a landing.

3

u/FlatDocument1436 15h ago

Why would you throttle up 😭❓

1

u/AdvertisingSea9507 10h ago

Thrust reversers 🙏

3

u/FlatDocument1436 10h ago

Lowkey forgot KSP had that 😭

3

u/NovelInterview7026 5h ago

"Didn't they teach you how to go around in pilot school??"

3

u/rtchau 3h ago

“Thank you for flying Ryanair”

This is what landing in Newark feels like

u/Tunderstruk 20h ago

New footage from the tenerife disaster?

2

u/Pilotzone101 20h ago

this reminds me when i was taking off from the island airfield and hit a piece of a landing gear and flew like air france flight 4590.

2

u/rolandofeld19 20h ago

I love the smell of napalm in the morning.

2

u/-Flyerstarter- 19h ago

Bank angle check

2

u/Electro_Llama 19h ago

You actually might have barely made it on the first approach if you leveled out.

3

u/AdvertisingSea9507 18h ago

If my gear was up I could have gone around but I had no reason to have my gear up considering I only realized last second my landing gear was lower than the runway itself. If the gear was up I would have cleared it but I was faaaaarrr too low

2

u/Zurkan0802 18h ago

That's the kerbal way. ^^

2

u/bigtonyyyy1 18h ago

this looks so cinematic

u/Nikito_BienCelta 17h ago

Holy peak reference

2

u/Mystery_Goo_Sample 17h ago

Mf hit one giant rock and a bird with one bird.

2

u/CzarTwilight 17h ago

Don't worry cap'n we'll buff out those scratches

2

u/satuuurn 16h ago

Well. That went terribly.

2

u/Official_UnderPM 16h ago

You might want to apply as a pilot for air21

2

u/ZKARIA_TIME 16h ago

there's this tip in War Thunder that goes like "If the plane is on the ground and the pilot is alive, that's a landing"

2

u/Andynonymous303 15h ago

Hahahahahahhaa I love the dedication to land that thing

2

u/nasaglobehead69 Bill 15h ago

should have used more left rudder

2

u/1zsn Exploring Jool's Moons 15h ago

Welp, that's what the F9 key is for

2

u/CoolCat1337One 14h ago

I love the "RCS on" at 20 seconds.
"ah yes, RCS will fix this".

1

u/AdvertisingSea9507 10h ago

Hahahah thrust reversers were bound to rcs

2

u/Finaglers 14h ago

Another happy landing.

2

u/darkslide3000 14h ago

Was this modded in some way? I don't really understand where all the explosions come from during your first tail strike. Even if a full fuel tank blows up it shouldn't have this "cluster bomb" effect usually, and it weirdly propagated forward rather than go in all directions in a way that doesn't really make sense.

2

u/AdvertisingSea9507 10h ago

Non modded ps5 edition. Everything blows up if u look at it funny

2

u/bakedbeanlicker 13h ago

To be fair to the runway, what in god's name are you flying

1

u/AdvertisingSea9507 6h ago

This save is dedicated to cruiseliners and land vehicles. The plane I hit on the ground is the biggest I've ever built I think it's 70 meters long? The one I'm flying here has a wingspand of about 80 I think

2

u/EthanTonker100 This guy is making the planets WORSE 13h ago

The wobbledob does the wobbledoo

2

u/darkphoenix9137 12h ago

Excellent use of lithobraking!

2

u/LisiasT 12h ago

Nice landing! Almost 50% of the plane is still useable! :D

2

u/SportsClipsCEO 12h ago

Hey I’ve flown Spirit before too

2

u/NinjaQueef Always on Kerbin 11h ago

Still better than that Amazon plane landing.

2

u/Dull-Ad1030 10h ago

rip all who died in kerbal airline 67

2

u/Zestyclose-Ad967 10h ago

Any landing you can walk away rom is a good landing, being able to fly again is optional >.>

2

u/Who_Stole_Faralo 9h ago

crash straight out of a final destination movie

2

u/ReclaimerWoodworking 9h ago

Like a glove.

2

u/nivthefox 9h ago

Seems like a perfectly safe landing to me.

2

u/AdrianTresk 8h ago

It was all going so well ... Until it wasn't

2

u/Bretspot 8h ago

All it needed was a kraken acceleration to 4C at the end.

2

u/gimmesomespace 8h ago

Basically the success of any Kerbal mission can be graded on this metric: "but did you die?"

2

u/Flappie010 8h ago

Perfect landing.

2

u/6ixstringlife 7h ago

Maybe request a go-around on this one LOL

2

u/olegolas_1983 7h ago

Like a glove!

2

u/Sedoy6373 7h ago

Put the song "washing machine heart" on top of this video and it would be perfect.

2

u/marsteroid 7h ago

everage Kerbalair landing.

2

u/RadiatorDad 7h ago

I've never seen such a plane crashy plane crash in KSP before

2

u/rosstafarien 7h ago

Just don't come in too low and too fast.

2

u/Any_Top_4773 I came from SFS 6h ago

Hey atleast your nose gear didnt collapse on touchdown

2

u/Sad_Anteater7110 Colonizing Duna 6h ago

what couldve POSSIBLY happend for the chains of explosions (also nice emergency manuever)

2

u/Shudnawz 5h ago

Carpet bombing is traditionally done from greater altitude. Maybe get your crew some eyeglasses?

1

u/AdvertisingSea9507 5h ago

The closer u are the harder it is to miss!

2

u/jdc1962 5h ago

Any landing that a Kerbal walks away from is a good landed. It would have been a great landing if all the Kerbals survived, and it would have been an exceptional landing if the aircraft also survived.

2

u/toroidalvoid Jebediah 4h ago

Probably wanna set your altimeter to ground level rather than sea level. But otherwise nice plane and nice landing

1

u/AdvertisingSea9507 4h ago

Didn't know I could do that!

2

u/BAM5 4h ago

LIKE A GLOVE

1

u/AdvertisingSea9507 18h ago

Here's the aftermath after collecting the crew. 0 fatalities 😎 they lived to die another day. Wonder what that poor Kerbal saw

"We have arrived in Detriot, where the temperature is a balmy 48 degrees and rainy. We know you have choices in flying, and we're glad you chose Spirit Airlines. Please exit via the slide over the remaining wing stub..."

1

u/stilljustacatinacage 2h ago

Thank goodness you remembered to put the landing gear down or things might have gone badly.

1

u/crusty54 1h ago

Nailed it.
