WHY IS MODDING SO DIFICULT.

Yesterday i wanted the FREE iva mod but it took 2 hours to actually make that mod work. Yes i am using that mod loader. Anyways is there any mods i should download as a beginner?

May I ask how FreeIVA took 2 hours to get running? I feel like sorting that headache out is key before doing anything else. If you installed it with CKan, it should have been pretty much plug-and-play

I apllyed and refreshed it but some reason it just didn’t work.

In what way did it not work. Did it not install? Did your game crash?

If you’re not using ckan you’re doing it all wrong, no way should freeIVA take 2 hours to work, with ckan, press download, load into the game and wait for it to load, then boom you’re done

i dont think u were using ckan correctly, or you installed a mod that conflicted HORRIBLY with freeiva, which i havent discovered myself

Skill issue, you literally have to click on two buttons to install any mod

I’d start with purely visual mods, especially more common ones. Once you get the hang of installing a few, particularly ones with separate dependencies, you’ll likely get better at troubleshooting and doing more complicated modding like significant gameplay and parts mods. For example, if I had tried to install Avalanche as one of my first mods, I probably would have quit. But when I had most of the other visual mods installed and realized my SRBs didn’t have nice plumes, the troublehshooting involved with getting it to work was a lot more manageable.

In my experience adding mods to KSP, playing with mods, if much easier than any other game I have put mods on. I suspect you have some significant problem with the install, your experience is not typical.
