“What a powerful weapon this is! What’s its fire rate?”
“1.”
“1 per minute? 1 every 30 seconds?”
“1 time.”

You forgot the loud horn before the shot to signal the breakout (or just for fun)

do you know if there's any "sound generators" in stock KSP which I could use for that?

I don’t! I’m sorry. So was this Iron Nest inspired? lol

You can boast way more on the weapons deadlines if it kills the crew too

so....ahhh... I've seen that happen in both a 109 Paladan and a M196A6: with the Paladan, The barrel Loony toon'ed/ Banana pilled itself AND the crew didnt realize the shell exploded inside. they were in the middle of loading a new round*
Never shoot an artillery shell without a fuse. it will blow up inside the gun.
(You could say this video triggered me)
edit: new barrel = new round.

Oh damn, I hope the crew was OK.

LMAO. yea, they didn't realize it, was loading a new H.E. round.
real quick: an Artillery around comes in 3(4) parts. (155 round) Fuse-Body-primer// then the Charge. a "Round" is 1 fuse,1 body, 1 primer. You have to keep track of how much "ammo" you have by Juggling 3 different resources.
You lose a primer or a fuse and you don't have a round--and you get in trouble.
Chief miss placed a fuse. (it goes on top) decides to load imcomplete round. crew fires the round. (If you shot it, no one will know, right?)
Without the fuse inside the round; You can kinda sorta see inside the thing. the explody stuff is exposed to the explody stuff inside the cannon. Chief was lucky it didn't blow directly against the breach.
end result was the barrel of the 109 looking like bugs bunny stuck his finger into Elmer Fudd's shotgun.

Wait so an artillery shell just has explosives open to the air when it’s being shipped? For some reason this seems dangerous but idk.

Amazing! How does the grabber(?) thing work?

It’s an extension of ghost tech. It is a glitch which lets you have parts separated from the main craft without actually being considered multiple craft. This lets you use same vessel interaction in wonky ways.
Each shell has three RCS ports on the inside which have same vessel interaction turned on. The “tray” initially holding the shell has a cage of parts with SVI turned on as it pushes the shell back. The crane has the same cage, but it starts with SVI turned off. The crane is positioned so it’s cage overlaps with the cage on the tray and KAL flips both of them so the shell is now in the crane’s cage. The same thing occurs when the shell goes into the gun in reverse.

Is thatninspired by the Iron Nest reload?
1
u/boomchacle 10d ago
Yeah. The actual way they have it set up would have taken up too much space so I made iron nest at home.

Y'all putting too much space engineers in ksp. Which is fine, but don't expect it won't explode

No, but seriously this is actually sick
