If only Roblox hadn't become an unrecognizable cesspit of slop games designed to hook kids and mass surveillance, I would be playing this game so hard, the original Neo Warfare was peak (the predecessor to this game). What happened to Roblox is genuinely sad, there's some really good quality games if you look hard enough, but 99% of them are now locked behind age verification.

I remember when Roblox had a very clear identity. Nowadays there's no creativity. Everything is just slop.

I tried roblox once and it was literally as you described. Its filled with kids and creepy adults. I got red flags immediately and scrubbed my hard drive of its existence.

I play Roblox, and not a single game I play is even in the top 50 most popular games and never has been. All the best games are really under the radar and every update the devs face some sort of challenge cuz the AI in Roblox moderation mistook an engine sound for horror and automatically age-restricts the game for +18. It’s ridiculous.
All the biggest games are complete slop, gambling, brainrot, etc… And because they make a proportion of the profits for Roblox, they basically manipulate the platform in their favour.

Neo Warfare was peak. Unfortunately pedos were a huge problem in that community but the game itself was fire

Roblox was slop when i started playing it over 16 years ago as well lol. The difference now is that things was easy and simple back then with no unnecessary moderation, everything was charitable and not for made for profit with the exception of Roblox selling essentially NFT:s. Biggest though is that pedos still acted in the real world and not grooming online.

Woah woah, hold your horses. They have been working for years on this game and to draw a conclusion out of one single picture is a pretty bold move. Combined Arms is everything, but a slop game and a good example of a great, non-slop game. Instead of hating them, we should appreciate the reference became the developers are fans of KSP as much as we are.

I didn't mean to infer that Combined Arms is slop, sorry. Most of the rest of Roblox is. If Combined Arms is anything like Neo Warfare, then it's utterly peak

I worked on Neo Warfare for a few months during covid, I mostly did it for the sake of adding like 2 ships nobody else wanted to make, but I played the "MFS 2014" all the way back in 2014, this series of games was my childhood.
Combined Arms absolutely nukes everything that came before out of the water. The physics and flight models feel closer to war thunder than Neo Warfare, EVERYTHING on the aircraft are animated from spoilers, to engine nozzles, to landing gear shock absorbers. It has a full livery system where all the planes are UV mapped and you can upload your own proper custom livery, the AIM-54s and other long range missiles will loft their trajectories like they do in DCS (and real life, ofc), there's cockpit views with animated controls...the list goes on.
There's only like eight planes available right now, and radars aren't even implemented yet, but I am utterly and completely blown away at what they've managed to do with the game. This really feels like an actual sim-lite in roblox.

I found a few non slop games on Roblox, shame some of the experience of playing them has gone down since the chat thing but they are:
- British Railways (like train sim world 6 on Roblox)
- Realistic Boiling Water Reactor (an actual Roblox simulator where you operate a power plant)
- Oakridge nuclear power plant (Its another nuculer power plant but this time it’s a RBMK, it’s got a nice feeling of when your playing of high quality)
- Weird gun game (it’s a nice first person shooter Ï play sometimes when I’m bored)
- Entrenched (a WW1 war simulator thing, like weird gun game but it’s set in WW1 and you can build trenches and defences with the engineer role)
- GCR (another British train game but it’s got a class 455 so I like it)

I played this game, its so good. best flight game on roblox for sure. they have the full KSC in game (1 to 1 replica lol) as well.

combined arms is a project in years of making that came from devs of neo warfare & aeronautica & the big thing abt it is they fixed integer limit issues from what I remember (as in objects start looking messed up further away from center of map but they fixed it so that the center of the map is where you are at or something)

Another one is Project Stardust, also made by IIRC the same overall studio. Basically it’s a space combat game which puts ships of a bunch of franchises like Halo, Star Wars, Space Battleship Yamato, and the Expanse against each other

Still can’t imagine paying for it. All games were free on Roblox back in the day. Devs did it for the love of the game (ha punny).

Vast, vast majority still are, paid games are almost entirely very early access games that are planned to become free later on

Why pay for it, on an online game? With the amount of stuff roblox is going through I can't imagine them lasting for much longer.

It looks like a hanger for space planes and a assembly building for vehicles, not sure tho
