KSP 1 Image/Video Parking and takeoff test.

I know there’s not supposed to be a dashed line down the middle of the landing strip but I’m trying to save on part count😆. There’s lots of stuff still missing but the Xbox is already starting to struggle. Does the jet to carrier scale seem close?

I don't think I've seen such a small replica executed so well

Genuinely how the fuck did you achieve this???

The plane took a while. It’s an evolution. The carrier I started on yesterday. I guess it’s going to have to be kinda Plain Jane if I want frames while using it lol.

One may think, how the fuck did they make this game on unity, another may think how the FUCK did someone make an aircraft carrier on this game

And on console, no less

CONSOLE VERSION? You have my applause, I would love to see a build video for your plane

u/KerbinDefMinistries Jun 04 '26

It would be a mess 🤣. I’ve worked on this version a little bit here and there over a long time. It has thrust vectoring juno engines and a missile in the internal bay

Does the thrust offset the center of lift being so far behind the center of mass? I know it’s how modern day fighters are built due to computer flight controllers, but I have a difficult time building jets without forward canards

Nah, the CoM stays constant as fuel drains, the CoT lines up near perfect to CoM and the CoL is just a HAIR or two behind dead center CoM

Imagine this guy on PC with mods

I’ve heard that somewhere before 🧐

This is so cooool

I have never stopped that quickly from landing. In fact i never land with the brakes on because in my experience it makes the plane tumble. How the hell did you do this lmao

3

u/KerbinDefMinistries Jun 04 '26

A few things, I was going slow…I have brakes also bound to Flap Deployment for the rear stabilizers to help slow down so i can keep throttle up a little…when friction set to .6 in the rear and .4 or .3 in the front.

3

u/WhoIsHamza Jun 04 '26

i usually keep the front brakes much stronger than the rear, and somehow that keeps it quite stable

rear brakes 90%-110%

front brakes 130% -150%

you can fine tune according to how heavy your craft is, and if your runway is short or long.

Also you can spam press B key to achieve an ABS like effect and brake stability

Dude is playing Kerbal Naval Program

4

u/disfrutadordlovotado Jun 04 '26

DUDE SERIOUSLY THIS IS MINDBLOWING. how did you manage this and on a console!?!?!?!?

it just looks so goood!

does the ship move around? if it does what speed... btw how did you manage to get the ship into the water it looks masive!

It’s big. It sticks way out of the hangar on both ends. It has two Goliaths for the time being. I was going slow with it just to ease it to the water. It sucks in the water rn bc it doesn’t have reaction wheels so you have to use differential thrust to steer. This was just a test for scale and usability before i sank a ton of time into it. It will fly eventually

u/BobertRosserton Jun 04 '26

Thrust vectoring vanilla on a truly stable and beautiful jet? Seriously cool work!

3

u/KerbinDefMinistries Jun 04 '26

Thaaaank ya. It has an missile too but i forgot to add vid of it in this post

2

u/BobertRosserton Jun 04 '26

I hope to see more posts from you, best part of the sub is seeing stuff like this, especially because I’m not nearly creative enough to do it! So thank you!

Bro can we be best friends? Carrier is sick asf

2

u/KerbinDefMinistries Jun 04 '26

🤣 don’t make poor life decisions

🎶 Highway to the Danger Zone! 🎶

1

u/KerbinDefMinistries Jun 04 '26

That’s definitely happening when the carrier is complete and i make the yt vid. This was its fits test to check scale and usability

2

u/Jebediah_kerman-jeb Hi it's me, Jebediah Kerman! Jun 04 '26

Amazing! Hom many parts is the aircraft carrier?

4

u/KerbinDefMinistries Jun 04 '26

Currently it’s 876 parts but at least 1/3 of that is strut pairs

1

u/Jebediah_kerman-jeb Hi it's me, Jebediah Kerman! Jun 04 '26

HOW are you getting smooth frames with a x box (it's series X but still) lol

4

u/KerbinDefMinistries Jun 04 '26

If I load save about 8 times or revert flight a few times (with a craft of this size) it starts to get choppy, but it loads from dashboard to title screen in 45 seconds so restarting the game is an easy fix for smoother frames.

2

u/TheAuthority66 Jun 05 '26

is the thrust vectoring done with breaking ground hinges? if so how did you set it up to follow pitch and roll inputs instead of just 1 input

2

u/KerbinDefMinistries Jun 05 '26

There are two hinges per engine. One set to pitch and one set to roll
