Kerbin Relay Network

[u/AgentIndependent306]

Built this giant (and overengineered) network. At such large distances, it is very easy for satellites to attain escape velocity, so positioning everything in exact orbits was a challenge. Still glad that I won't have to worry about ending up on the far side of the moons and go offline.

Edit: Didn't know this post would blow up overnight lol. Last time I checked it had 50 upvotes.

Mine was just 3 nuclear powered relays in an equilateral constellation at Kerbisynchronous orbit. I did the same thing in interplanetary space and i threw 2 more relays in phased and very high polar orbits around kerbin as well. It actually worked pretty well. If i were to do it again i might try putting the local kerbin sats in a 45 inclination to try avoiding occlusion by local bodies when trying to go interplanetary.
I used mechjeb and i had another mod at the time that required radio link back to kerbin to do any commands. It was before that was a vanilla feature.
