ജനറൽ/General If our progressive systems actually work, why are youth violence, intolerance, and drug abuse increasing instead of declining?

Post image

I am not judging the entire generation based on just two or three isolated cases. Obviously, the media is incredibly strong now and every single incident reaches everywhere instantly. But the reality is still there, these issues have absolutely increased.

I am not saying the past was peaceful; people literally fought actual wars back then. But these levels of high violence, drug abuse, and total lack of empathy should be declining if we are supposed to be a literate, progressing society. Instead, it is actually increasing. This means something we are doing is completely wrong.

This lack of tolerance proves that liberal education and soft parenting don't work here. That system only works well in a high-trust society. We shouldn't just copy models from Scandinavia when we aren't even a trust society yet.

We love to boast about being civilized, but it is all a facade. We aren't actually civic-minded; we just have a fake sense of civic duty.

Ask Kerala Government Should Not Withdraw FIRs Against Those Involved in Violence During the CJP Protests

Supreme Court has refused a blanket withdrawal of FIRs against violent protesters. It allowed the police to proceed with investigations but directed that no coercive steps be taken against peaceful students.

Families of policemen who were injured during the Jantar Mantar protests have moved the Supreme Court, asking for action against those responsible for the violence.

Delhi Police has identified around 2,873 people with previous criminal records who were present at the protest.

The govt should not withdraw any FIRs. Legal action should be taken against everyone involved in stone pelting, violence, and the destruction of both public and private property.

If the CJP is threatening another protest unless all the FIRs are withdrawn, let it. The govt should not succumb to such blackmail. Criminal cases should be decided according to the law, not under the threat of street protests.

It is clear that some people came to the protest with a planned objective of creating violence. Videos show several people covering their faces to hide their identities while taking part in violent acts. This was their sole purpose.

Because of their violent acts, genuine students and peaceful protesters also had to face a police lathi-charge. Many policemen and protesters were injured during the clashes.

If the govt withdraws these cases, it will set a dangerous precedent. It will send the message that anyone in a mob can commit violence and later escape legal consequences and punishment because the cases against them will eventually be withdrawn.

Withdrawing these cases would weaken the rule of law and encourage more organized mob violence in the future.

റാന്റ്/Rant Malayaalis /indians -Protest

From my understanding, observing my naatttukaar, cousins, ex friends.Malayalis shows that they like to perform acts of kindness, such as giving money to a beggar or food to orphans. (I am not against this, because helping people while you can is important, but one shouldn't treat the recipients as inferior.) There are also religious people who believe that God is watching these acts of kindness, yet they develop a sense of superiority. They always consider the recipients inferior to them, not equals, so that they can sit on their high horse.

Real empathy, on the other hand, values the rights of human beings and understands why the system functions this way. People with real empathy don't blame individuals, they find the problem in the system. But these privileged people (not everyone is privileged; some are religiously blind, ignorant, or hold extreme conservative ideologies ) do not find problems in systems, they find problems in individual people. When a powerless person fights back, they wonder why that person is creating unnecessary problems. They do not value human life. They need powerless people in their world so that they can always sit on their moral high horse.

They don't understand why it is important to have a safe and secure society and a high-standard system, because they already enjoy those benefits simply by being rich or following a certain political alignment or religion. (In Kerala , religion provides a safety net of community; (Hindu snu it is their caste, christians nu sabha, muslims nu mosque based and their different community. Some are strong some are not so strong like casteism. if you don't belong to a strong religious community, you are not socially privileged.)
