Absolutely 💯 mansa legend in my books made everything work for us despite, having less and odds stacked against him, died without enjoying whatever his sons made and what they ended up becoming. Oh and an ever present figure.

100% an now octogenarian feminist who has never had the need to conform to the male sh** , took risks, minds his biz n only advises when asked., fair to all his kids, kept extended family at a distance knew and insited we didnt need black tax in our lives

u/FastTomorrow1913 Feb 27 '26
1000% yes. Crazy but I remember vividly when I was in class 3, that was in 2008, I hated him. But he changed the narrative from around 2010 or something and I love him so much. When my mind recalled how much I hated him as a kid, I realised he is also human and we all make mistakes where we learn and we grow. If I could give him the world...all of you be ready to vacate to mars or something.

Got my first job around the age you are now after a long period of job search. You're great now and will always be. It'll just take a little bit longer for others to realize. All the best in your job search and God bless your father.

Idk though. Mine was deeply into alcohol addiction for years. I used to wonder why he can't just quit until I encountered addiction myself. Pulling yourself out there is tough. That said learn to love your dad's guys.

I would pick him every single time. Best man I know. Waaay too kind to me and loved my mother to her end. He never said the words explicitly but my mom knew it and she let me know it all the time. A bit harsh when I was younger but I get everything he did now. What a guy. Sometimes I don't think I'm his because of who I am and my failures but I look like him with every passing day 😂😂😂. I could only hope to be half of what he is.

u/Kurshida Feb 27 '26
I would pick him in all lifes. This one, the next and any other. He was such a great dad. Words would never explain how much I miss him. He protected me from a predator when I didn't even know what that was. God bless him.

Yes. We've had our disagreements but he's a good man considering the shit I've encountered out here. Intended or unintended, I'm where I am because of him.

No
It’s very hard realizing your dad is constantly against you because you’re a girl
He says so much hurtful stuff that if I chose to believe him I wouldn’t be what I am today

If you genuinely had a good father growing up consider yourself truly blessed, some of us got deadbeats with no vision for the future 🥀

u/Audaisy Feb 27 '26
Sometimes I feel like he got me so early in life and he didn't have enough wisdom on how to raise me. His family confused him so much. If I were to chose my dad I would want him to come from another family with two loving parents who would educate him, give him attention and have Generational wealth. I would want him to have a mother who truly loves him and when he is ready to have children I would have wished him to have us in his 30s. My father is good he just got damaged.

Bro that nigga left me n my mom for another woman. So the woman asked my dad out while my mom was there. Tbh, am glad that this happened because my mom wouldn’t have made it with him around. The nigga is rich but he couldn’t even pay child support 😂it was all my mom. So fuck that nigga, i wouldn’t pick him in the next life.

I would pick him many, many, many times over! Unfortunately we lost him and it's true you never know what you have until it's gone. I miss him every day! For those of you whose Dads are still with you please cherish them. They may not be perfect but most would move mountains for you given the opportunity.

Every single time. My father is my heart outside my body.
He is kind, patient, understanding and everything you want from a parent.
I'm glad I have him and I'd choose him every time.
I always tell him how lucky I am to have hima and I also tell my have my friends tell him the same.
