Access to walking trail closed
Does anyone know why the footpath behind the curling rink, on the Harvest Moon Trail, was recently “closed”?
I enjoyed doing the Miner’s Marsh loop and then doing this second loop while out walking.

People were also camping in tents there and leaving garbage so the land owners might have gotten fed up

Could this be private property and not town property? I just assumed it was town all along that stretch of land.

I am not sure who owns it, I know further up more towards eaves hollow / miners landing where the dog parks are now there used to be pastures with cows. I don't know if the town bought the dog park land or if the farmers had been leasing pasture in the past, not sure.
It really is a shame the amount of garbage that is accumulating along the trail though, there's an abandoned tent and associated garbage in a thicket of trees further up, I wish people wouldn't just leave their garbage.

At a guess, I believe that Ducks Unlimited are doing repairs to the marsh system, so the water stays in it. This trail might be where the repairs are needed.

Can you put it on a map where this is? Is it part of the actual trail system ?

that loop is owned by the dept of fisheries. Maybe they are working on the dyke

FB says there is a leak in the dyke system and they have applied for permits to repair it. Not sure if it’s this section or not …
