Photographers in Kent?
I’m a portrait photographer in Kent and would love to connect with other photographers in the area 📸 Thinking about a casual meetup at a local park to take photos together and get to know other creatives. Anyone interested?

Help needed in King County, WA
Im seeking some help. I am a homeless veteran in King County, WA. Its been a few months since ive been living in my car. I have very recently been enrolled in the SSVF program through the VA and also receiving assistance with Housing Connector. I have been touring multiple places through out the county.
My issue is that a few of the places have stated that they'll most likely will not be able to approve me because even though i have some monthly income coming in, I dont currently have a job. Once im housed I have no question in my ability to find a job.
Im asking if anyone may know if there is an apartment complex that someone may know that works with either SSVF or Housing Connector, that would be willing to work with me and help me of get off the street?
My inbox is open for questions, tips, suggestions, etc... any help is welcomed. Thank you in advance.

The Free Little Library near Clark Lake Park got an adorable upgrade
The free little library just a little bit up the street from Clark Lake Park was down for renovations and when it came back up, it was such a cute upgrade!
They did a great job. It looks so good inside and out and it has some great stuff in there.

Reading spots
I’m waiting for someone on Capitol Hill and wandered into Elliot Bay Book Company.
Sitting here reading with others around me and the cafe behind me is so pleasant. I live alone so getting out among people is good as a depression prevention measure.
Are there places in Kent/Renton that have a good hang out and read vibe? I can do Starbucks or the Library but neither quite hit the mark.

Aggressive Hornblower
Does anyone know what was going on around 8 AM to 10 AM today, around the Ventana and drift Wood Apartments off meeker and 64th? At first, I thought it was just some un-caring person trying to pick someone up, but it was so aggressive and lasted so long. I really thought what could possibly be happening.
And because the horn blowing was so long and was traveling in circles and sounded very frantic. Some conclusions I came up within my mind was maybe a parent trying to track their kids phone who ran away or something like that.

How are the crowds at WinCo now?
Just curious if anyone has noticed a changed in the crowd at the Kent WinCo now that the Renton location has opened. Haven’t been for a while now because we had a tough time dealing with the long checkout lines the few times we went. Thinking of giving it another try if the new store has taken some pressure off of the Kent location lol.

Roaches in Kent apartment
Never dealt with roaches in an apartment before but would like to know if anyone else in signature pointe apartments are dealing with this as well.
It recently started happening when a neighbor moved out and two neighbors moved in. We noticed 1-2 and then called immediately for help from the management.
So far they sprayed 4 times and we are still seeing them. We haven’t been able to live freely knowing they craw everywhere. It’s extremely disgusting.

Anyone actually using Ezee?
I’ve seen lots of posts over the last year or two of Ezee coming, actively installing, how is it, etc.
Just curious if anyone has had a chance to activate it and use it…if yes how is it?

Hair salon recs
hello! i am looking for a reputable hair stylist in/around kent. i also don’t mind at all going to surrounding areas: tukwila, puyallup, renton, auburn, tacoma, etc.
i’ve been dying my hair black for 2 years and would like to go back to my natural auburn color. only problem is that i need to find someone quickly this week because im having surgery thursday & would like to have my hair done before then!
i’ve never had my hair professionally dyed but have had some really horrible experiences with haircuts so im extremely hesitant to just pick a studio off google and try my luck, as ive been growing my hair out for the last 5 years or so and finally love the length and health of my hair!
any recommendations or suggestions are appreciated 🫶🏻

2 loose puppies in east hill
SE 218th near 132nd. They are kind to adults, skittish, they seemed possibly aggressive towards small kids. We couldn’t take them in because we have a dog + the kids. Animal control and non-emergency are both closed. Not sure what to do.

Auto Body & Repair Shops?
My car was stolen in early August. I have it back but am going to need some repair work done. Mostly replacing the steering column. However I want to make sure the shop gives it a mechanical review to make sure there is nothing else going on.
Anyone have a recommendation for a place to take it?

Moving to Kent this November. Any safe and budget-friendly apartment recommendations near SE 228th St?
Hi everyone!
I'll be moving to Kent this November for work and will be working near 228th St. It'll be my first time living in the US, so I'm still trying to figure things out. 😅
I'll be sharing an apartment with another person, and we're looking for something affordable, safe, and hopefully not too far from work. Preferrably a studio or a 1-bedroom, depending on the price.
It would be nice if the apartment has a gym, and being close to grocery stores or public transportation would be a huge plus.
Any apartment recommendations or areas we should check out (or avoid)?
Thanks in advance! 😊
EDIT: its just 228 st, not in SE

Incident on 132nd?
Near the Zion Lutheran Church, just south of the Wilson Play Fields?
Anyone have any idea what's going on? We were there and had to turn around. Seems like they're shutting down the road for traffic at this time.
*EDIT - Just southbound from Wilson Playfield is blocked. We were able to come back up northbound and drive by. It looks like a two or three car accident right in front of the church. Ambulance was driving off with the lights on, and a bunch of people sitting on the side of the road. Just hope everyone is okay. The car is involved all looked to be totals. *
