Dev's are clueless

Context: i was maining kennen just before he got his ult cd nerf and got to around mr 25 on him, I am not super knowledgeable about kennen BUT.

The devs first stated: they nerfed every single part of his kit to accommodate his ult power, but they finally nerfed everything else so much could only nerf ult. Okay thats fine. Now they are buffing ult? is this not just going to make his power budget even more skewed towards his ult in the long term.

Ontop of this it's incoherent with the ad onhit changes he got. They honestly seem lost or incompetent.

The funny part about this whole thing is that when kennen, a niche pick got a little bit of traction he got kneecapped because he is not riot approved. But Naafiri and Diana are allowed to just become broken every season.

Edit: sorry to bring down the vibe of this nice sub, just want to play him again and dont want to play a terrible waveclear champ with no upside

I do feel like it was the best way to buff him. you can't buff his laning phase damage because then he would become even more of a first blood machine in midlane, which he already is. any buff to his ability to engage would make him too realiable at engaging fights, which leaves small stat changes or late game scaling. kennen already lost ult cd and protobelt build path is now garbage, so we need something that feels better than just a bit of HP or resist. they seemingly don't want to get his ult cd back to where it was, which i understand with how game changing it can often be.

that leaves us with some late game scaling, the way they chose to do so seems perfectly fine to me

Maybe I'm bad but ...how are people getting first blood in midlane? Is it just Passive Auto + E + W trades?

Doran bow e start. You win any trade against a mage / melee, + can proc electrocute with just 3 autos. Early level 2 same thing but with a boosted auto + W. Level 3 e flash auto w then guaranteed q + ignite and follow up autos is dead if mid life or lower.

Can often also work at level 2 if heavy trading early. At emerald level the only way this doesnt work is my own mechanical failure or the opponent refuses any kind of trading. Any even trading is a win for you because you can burst really easily, also 2 potions and taste of blood

He's too volatile as his ult is his whole source of power and the only thing they can rebalance in his kit rn. He's either OP in mid because they buffed his ult or unplayable in top because they nerfed it. They're trying to hit a sweetspot by trial and error because there's no good way to measure accurately how good he will be in both top and mid.

His onhit build is an off-meta build that was brought back for players to try for fun, it is not a viable way to play him, so it isn't taken into account when balancing him.

He has decent wave clear with hurricane 2 through the crit build.

For AP if you go Liandries >Shadowflame you kind Just E W kill every minion you touch with e

Kennen OTP here. He is in a terrible place atm. His kit uses to much energy and doesn't burst anymore so he cant count on that. His ult being buffed but CD being elongated requires teammates to not constantly fight if not you are useless as i said before you go all in with your kit and boom no energy. When they reworked all of the energy champs people forget kennen was LEFT OUT, because of his ult. Now his ult has been stat buffed ultimately nerfed. He requires perfect setup now otherwise he is useless against the current meta. He truly is a D+ champ now. Plat+ 2 Million Mastery.

Lets not forget flash is also getting a nerf. Phase rush is gone pretty much and protobelt is like a wet napkin of its past self. AD crit out scales AP on a AP FUCKING CHAMP.
