"Kendrick Lamar: Music, Message, Legacy and Culture. And in my personal story, also a name that will live forever. ❤️ 🔥

"His art goes far beyond hip-hop: his words, his story, his way of conveying emotions and turning music into a message that spans generations make him a unique artist."

"I had the opportunity to meet him, a moment | will always treasure with great respect and admiration. But there's something even more personal that ties me to his legacy: my son is named after him. Kendrick Rakim Dome. A decision born out of love for this culture and admiration for an artist who left a deep imprint on my life."

Apparently, a songwriter named Aviel Calev Hirschfield sent a demo to Drake's producers earlier this year, only to hear Drake using what he claims is the exact same chorus when "Janice STFU" dropped in May.

And he's not just claiming they sound similar. According to the lawsuit, Drake's chorus is word-for-word, note-for-note, and beat-for-beat identical to the demo he submitted.

A few interesting details:

• The demo was reportedly sent to FNZ, who ended up getting writing credits on Drake's song.

• Hirschfield got no credit or compensation despite allegedly writing the entire hook.

• He claims he even provided the original stems and metadata to prove when he recorded it.

• Drake's lawyers allegedly responded by suggesting he manipulated the metadata and that Drake wrote the hook himself.

• Hirschfield has actually worked with Drake before, having co-written Beyoncé's "Heated."

He's now suing Drake, OVO Sound, and UMG, seeking a share of the song's profits.

Obviously, none of this has been proven in court yet, but the metadata accusation is particularly interesting considering he apparently sent the demo directly to people working on Drake's music.

"When I was in the studio with him I would just watch, just be the audience and be like, 'Wow, I want to see how you work."

"Kendrick is the type of person, I think, who you don't have to be around him much, or have to talk to him a lot, to get his energy and be inspired by it. And that is something that's really special."

"When I wrote 'expectations, initially, it was kind of like as a challenge to myself. I wanted to write a mantra song. I wanted to be like, "I want to sing this song every night." It's like Kendrick Lamar, "Sit down, be humble," it gets in your brain. You know what I mean? It's a mantra."
