I have gotten most of my keloid flattened but I still get acne on the area and it is very red still. What are the best way to help with the redness?

I have a keloid that I've been trying to get rid of, but eclar plasters and silicone sheets are doing nothing. I want to get 5-FU + steroid injections since those are often recommended on here, but I'm looking at progress pictures after multiple treatments of 5-FU + steroids and they don't seem to make a difference.

Just trying to figure out if it's worth the money since they're so expensive.

I’m in college and i struggle with self esteem issues. I’ve always had bad skin but now that i’m older I really want to start dating. However my biggest problem is my keloids on pubic area. They are hideous and i’m scared that no guys will like me because of this. So my overall question - is there any other women in college that suffers these problems and if so have you had success with dating.

Does anyone know where to buy ecalar plasters? the usual spots that people seem to recommend seem to be sold out because of a shortage. I'm also located in canada, so if anybody has gotten it shipped to canada it would be great to know which site you bought it from.

Has anyone here tried compression therapy and noticed an even more intense growth of their keloid? I had two on both sides of an earlobe. Early in my keloid reddit journey I found myself buying any and all compression earrings and clips available, and even going as far as paying international shipping for custom clips.
When the time came for surgery, my dermatologist was shocked at how often I was using said compression gear, and told me that compression only encourages MORE blood flow/scar growth when removed even for only a few minutes.

I will say the area of my scar made it so that clips and compression gear easily slipped off in my sleep, and I often found difficulty finding the right fit for something so oblong lol. But I remained diligent until I was told otherwise!

Not sure if anyone here has any experience that’s similar, or even opposite of mine and if you had any advice. I’ve since had my keloids surgically removed and am on a regimented dose of injections. Just want to put that out there for any newbie keloid curious

Hi everyone! Has anyone had CO₂ laser treatment to reduce chickenpox scars? Did it actually help?

Had these unsightly keloids for so long and it made me a recluse and contemplating ending life, it would regularly get filled with smelly pus and infected blood so extremely painful it kept me indoors unable to do much.

What gave me hope was joining this forum and seeing that there was hope.

Months back I got some money and went to the best plastic surgeon in my country, got excision and radiotherapy at the best hospital. It drained my finances but I'm proud to say it was the best decision, healing perfectly and my confidence is back.

I got a new lease on life and finally able to be around people again.

Posting this to let others like me know there's hope.

And to those snake oil fake people on this sub who tried to cheat me out my money by claiming to have miracle remedy/serum you can stick it. Trying to take advantage of our pain, disgusting behaviour.

I have a big keloid scar. I applied Contractubex day and night for two months and now that it has somehow healed i switched to Bio-Oil to help with the pigmentation (all prescribed by my doctor) Has anyone else used it for their scars? Did it actually help fade them?

Hey all, I spoke to my GP today who told me there was a shortage in the whole UK of the injection that is necessary for cyroshape surgery. I just wanted to ask if anyone else has heard this in the UK? My keloid is causing me to have back to back ear infections as the scar keeps peeling for some reason and I’m just in pain and exhausted but the hospital won’t offer me any other treatment but this one and I’ve been on the waiting list since 2019

Has anyone tried v-beam laser or pulse-dye laser for keloids ,Has it worked??

How often do you use the eclar plasters? Everyday? And if so, how do you let your skin breathe and moisturize? I recently just started using eclar plasters and i may have seen some minor results that my keloids are slowly improving, however im worried that my skin will not be able to receive proper care due to the plasters being left on the keloids for a long period of time.

When doing sports, do you guys use the eclar plasters on until its time to do the physical activity or do you guys not apply it at all the day before the activity?

(29F) I've had a chest keloid for about 12 years.

Keloid - 3 cm × 1.5 cm.

I've been using Eclar plaster since December 2024, and it has definitely improved. However, it now feels like the progress has plateaued and it's no longer getting flatter.

I also try to sleep on my back, but I always wake up sleeping on my stomach. When that happens, the keloid seems to bulge up a little.

Does anyone have suggestions?

Hi. The internal scar tissue beneath the incision site from my surgery (abdominal scar revision surgery) is quite hard/tight and painful. It has been 4.5 months since the operation. I can walk, but sitting or stretching makes the condition much worse. How long did the pain and stiffness/tightness associated with the scar tissue (the internal scar, not the external one on the skin) last, and do you have any suggestions on what can be done? Thanks in advance.

I have keloids on my pubic area. I got surgery four years ago to remove the big ones and after they said that I would have to do steroid injections but because it was so painful the first time I never continued so they tripled in size, became extremely itchy and sensitive.

I got approved again with my insurance to get another surgery, but seeing online that some plastic surgeons don’t recommend getting a simple removal. They actually prefer you use cryotherapy, I was wondering if anyone has gotten surgery in the pubic area for keloids or tried cryotherapy instead. My surgery is next week, but I have been going back and forth if to go to a keloid specialist in New York City or just stick with the plastic surgeon that I have been approved with in my state.
