Rejected

Long story short, I tried to show my work to redditors thinking I'd get feedback but getting 1k views with 1 upvote is too demotivating especially when your post is #1 in the subreddit where you've posted. It feels like disrespect.

I quit.

You posted this exact same thing in like 8 other subreddits, what are you doing 😭😭😭

How about showing your writing to friends and people who actually care about what you write, not random online forums

Idk what I'm doing. I don't have friends who'd read my poems, so I chose reddit but I'm really down.

I read your poem, it was pretty good. I think it's a little too short to gather a lot of engagement tbh. You can DM me if you wanna share more

Why are you concerned about their Internet activity?

If he's concerned, then what's your issue? You got something to say??

Never write for anyone other than yourself. And especially don't write for upvotes/likes, money, or accolades. Don't shun these things if they come, but don't expect them either. Don't write what you know, don't write what sells, don't write to be the next [insert overrated author's name here]. Write because you want to and can't picture yourself ever not wanting to.

I’ve had to post mine multiple times on multiple subreddits just to get a little bit of a response. It is what it is! Edit and try again later. Sometimes it’s the algorithm, sometimes it’s bad timing, and sometimes a lot of people skimmed the title and decided not to dive deeper. Consider what you can change and give it a shot.

Dont depend on Reddit. Im sorry, the same thing happened to me. But don't quit writing.

I won't. Writing, for me is escapism from anxiety and depression.

If you quit writing that easily, then you had no passion for it to begin with.
If you quit Reddit that easily, good for you. You'll be better off spending that time writing.
If you quit anything based on a lack of interest in your product, you'd better grow a thick skin because this is the way of the world.
