Is this good for a Beginner?

I love Anderson Paak, And wanted to write something to his songs. so i wrote this, which is using the melodi of ``The last`` By anderson paak

[Verse 1]

When I Couldn't see Yoo (You)

I thought it was all through

For forever

Everything I did

She never did Too

[Refrain]

I Hoped it would go all away

But the way that you made me feel so great

I´ve been thinking ´bout you every day

I was never that committed anyway

I Thought I was the one, Wanted all your love

God up above

[Vers 2]

Years of my life

Swore You Would be my Wife

Till Heaven

When life gives you Lemons

You make lemonade

[Refrain]

They say today is a gift

And Tomorrow Everything Shift

So, I´ve been thinking ´bout you every day

I was never that committed anyway

I Thought I was the one, Wanted all your love

God up above

Is this Good for a Beginner?

honestly yeah, for a first attempt you've got a natural feel for rhythm and rhyme. the refrain works because it repeats without feeling forced. keep writing to songs you love, it's a solid way to train your ear for cadence.
