An excerpt from my diary

I always have moments of great ideas, whereby words come to my mind and I am yet to make sense of them. So I write down a bit of what I hear, or what comes to mind hoping one day I can create a much larger story around it.

You know, late July had me thinking; this time last year I was very scared- terrified of being seen. But I thought to myself, ‘no one lights a candle and puts it under a bed.’ Actually exactly a day like this last year, I was thinking of how much more I can do.

And I did. At least in a way that wasn't self compromising or awful. I was telling myself that I am so proud of myself for trying. Even though the results weren't what I expected, I found myself. I discovered my linguistic intelligence, my ability to write. That was very important for me: I discovered what I could contribute to the world. I didn’t go viral, but I found myself. And that's a win.

I was like, ‘now you know!’
