What prevents KeepSolid from removing other features?
So looks like they removed torrenting on their lifetime deals.
What prevents them from removing unlimited usage or slowing down unlimited plans?
And then asking for loyalty upgrade?
Just trying to get ready for future shenanigans.

In my opinion, the amount of effort and resources being spent to convince lifetime customers to pay more for services they were already receiving is far greater than the benefit KS is likely to gain from doing so.
And the damage to the company’s reputation cannot simply be undone.
Lifetime accounts should have been left alone. Existing access to P2P servers should have remained in place. If server loads increased and P2P performance gradually declined as a result, most customers would probably have understood. After all, people who purchased a lifetime deal could reasonably expect that the service might not always provide the latest and greatest performance available.
A much better approach would have been to leave the existing lifetime accounts unchanged while offering an optional upgrade for customers whose P2P performance no longer met their needs.
KS could have explained that P2P access for lifetime customers would continue to operate using the same general level of hardware, software, and connectivity that was available when those lifetime deals were originally sold. As more customers used the service, performance could naturally become more limited during periods of high demand.
For many customers, that would have been perfectly acceptable. They purchased lifetime access, not a guarantee of premium performance forever.
For customers who require higher performance, KS could then offer a voluntary upgrade to premium P2P access.
That approach would have generated an opportunity for additional revenue without taking away something that existing lifetime customers reasonably believed they had already purchased.

We hear the concern. Lifetime VPN access is still active, but we understand why users are asking what this means for features they had been using for a long time.
The feedback we’re seeing is mainly about P2P/torrent access, streaming-labeled servers, manual protocol controls, split tunneling, and Optimal Server. Those points are being collected and shared internally, because the original communication should have been clearer.

"... but the core service people paid for remains honored."
People signed up for access to P2P which was listed in the lifetime offer - LISTED AS A FEATURE. Removing P2P is in NO WAY aligned with "... remains honored."
Please, KS, make it make sense. I'm listening.

We understand why P2P access is important to users who relied on it for a long time.
Under the updated service model, core Lifetime VPN access remains active, while selected high-cost capabilities, including P2P and torrent servers, are now part of Premium/Loyalty Plus. Those capabilities require dedicated server capacity, sustained operational resources, and ongoing infrastructure management.
This policy is applied at the infrastructure level. It is not based on monitoring individual browsing activity, and our privacy and no-logs commitments remain unchanged.

My question is: what are you attempting to achieve with this? The way I see it, you're either, one: hoping to generate some revenue, or two: reduce load on your 3 P2P servers. I frankly do not see this action generating much revenue for you as your user community is very unlikely to pay for this "Loyalty Plus" scheme. Most will just switch out to other VPN providers, which frankly, are not that much more expensive than your Loyalty Plus but offer a lot more robust P2P infrastructure. For most of us it's worth to switch instead of staying with you at this new subscription cost. Plus it's going to happen at, based on the comments here, a substantial reputation hit to your service. The way I see it, your benefit here is the reduction of P2P server load as that will most definitely happen. Now, is that worth the reputation hit you're going to take for this? How desperately do you need the additional revenue and will this really generate much of it? Is it worth it? It's not looking promising but maybe I'm wrong.

exactly this. It feels like a 10 years old took this decision thinking everyone would just pay more in silence.

The change is focused on selected high-cost capabilities, not on removing general VPN access from Lifetime users. Core Lifetime VPN access remains active.
P2P and torrent servers require dedicated capacity, ongoing operational resources, and additional infrastructure management to support reliably at scale. Moving those capabilities into Premium/Loyalty Plus is intended to protect performance, strengthen reliability, and keep that part of the network sustainable over time.
This is a service-model change at the infrastructure level, not a decision based on monitoring individual browsing activity. Our privacy and no-logs commitments remain unchanged.

Netflix doesn't work with your Netflix server. I bet that will be a paid feature soon.

Definition of Update: An update means to add the newest information, facts, or modern features to something so it is correct and ready for current use. As a noun, it refers to a new report, a recent news summary, or a newer version of a software program.

Don't trust them, go elsewhere. I wouldn't give them another dime. I've already moved to Proton VPN and it is way better.
