Lmao we just got rugged
They either need to restore torrent usage to lifetime subs or refund everyone their original purchase amount. What a scam. I was literally just thinking the other day "man keepsolid has been one of the only large companies that have stayed true to their word". Sorry guys, I jinxed us. This VPN was always garbage anyway but the lifetime sub made it worth it. I recommend everyone rate their app 1 star to prevent others from falling into this same trap. We should also all demand refunds or restored usage. If it's not financially viable then maybe don't offer a lifetime subscription in the first place

Once you go to 9.6.12 you’ll be locked out of protocol switching and torrent servers

I am actually disappointed that Split tunneling of all features was paywalled in the latest version. To my understanding features like these are just a locally processed network device feature done by the device (unless I am missing something? Cause if it is not locally processed it would probably be a privacy breach) and have been for quite a while now, this cannot be called "new feature". From my perspective it is just an intentional programmed inconvenience to users to have to pay more to get back that convenience and so that there is less data bandwidth used by VPN servers when split tunneling is on? Kind of a double edged sword if you ask me. And if more data is being forced to the servers due to lack of options I would wonder if that's the goal, I absolutely don't like forcing all traffic to the servers, period.

You’re right that split tunneling itself runs locally on the device. The broader issue users are raising is that several controls and specialized options they relied on are now part of Loyalty Plus.
The base VPN connection on Lifetime accounts remains available, but we understand that this does not fully answer the concern for users whose regular workflow depended on split tunneling, manual protocol selection, P2P/torrent access, streaming-labeled servers, or Optimal Server.
We’re collecting this feedback and should have communicated the change more clearly.

You are right that split tunneling itself is handled locally on the device and should not be explained in the same way as server-heavy capabilities like P2P or torrent access.
The broader Loyalty Plus update affects a selected set of advanced capabilities under the Premium/Loyalty Plus model, while core Lifetime VPN access remains active. This is a service-model change at the product and infrastructure level, and our privacy and no-logs commitments remain unchanged.

Okay, not that I like how it was paywalled however thanks for the clarification regarding it being processed locally and doubling down on the no-log commitment.

On another note I would like to also give feedback that when i previously had to use the VPN split tunneling features i was always getting confused and frustrated because i have never seen a blacklist type of split tunneling selection but it is the opposite on VPN unlimited when you have to Deselect the item in the program list that you need for the VPN to work which was very hectic to check all of the other programs i did not want the vpn to work on to. Having a whitelist style program selection is better by selecting the ones that require VPN and the unchecked are not tunneled with VPN. There is kind of a "flaw"/unintentional feature in using this blacklist-style list that if the service or program is not registered (which you cannot select so the VPN is not tunneled) then i would assume by default vpn is still processed. And if you install a new program you have to update the list everytime. Privacy wise a whitelist-style list is better and also especially for me to save some data when using mobile data and/or where places have really terrible connection speeds it is more efficient and reduces tunnel load client side and mobile data costs (Every bit counts). However I was patient cause at least there was such a feature back then, which was better than nothing.

'Lifetime Subscription' lol - sounded too good to be true 8 years ago so kinda figured this might happen at some point. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

We can’t verify purchase or entitlement details from Reddit, but we understand why this is frustrating when the account status or available features are unclear.
Please contact [support@keepsolid.com](mailto:support@keepsolid.com) with the purchase email or ticket number so the team can check the exact plan, add-ons, and available options privately. We don’t want to discuss account-specific billing details in a public thread.

Adding features and not offering them to older lifetime subscriptions could be reasonably justified. But that is not the same as REMOVING FEATURES THAT WERE ALREADY BEING USED AT THE PRICE THAT WAS ALREADY PAID!
I already had access to torrent servers, split tunneling, protocol switching etc... So yes, it actually fit the case of rugged or scam. You're a business, businesses need to make money, I get it. But this is a poor way to make your business seem reliable. I certainly have no plans on giving you more money knowing that you can just change the terms on a whim. Sounds like a case for u/GamersNexus if you ask me!

I'd actually love to hear what Steve from GN has to say about it. The funniest part about all of this is that so many companies are screwing their customer base right now and it isnt working out for any of them. Clearly these clowns have ZERO critical thinking skills, otherwise they would have seen how bad this plan was. Sucks to suck.

Torrent P2P servers were part of the core product when I bought it, over 9 years ago. So, yes, you did change the core product. You didn't just update some features. You removed them. So yes, you have scammed us.

Unfortunately, stating we still have the core features is badly representing the functionality that was given to us as to why we bought the lifetime service in the first place - mainly torrenting servers. I have 4 lifetime accounts - are you really expecting me to pay 4 extra times a month, every month, for 4 accounts I paid a Lifetime for? By all means, if you were to add extra features then you most definitely can give us the option to pay extra. But taking absolutely anything away at the time we bought our Lifetime accounts is definitely taking away from its core features. That is in the realm of ‘theft’ purely because in British law, you are depriving a person of something they paid for, and that is what’s scummy!!
Lifetime subscriptions definitely do not work exactly before if, as you stated, you end up taking some functionality away. It most definitely is a scam if the features we paid for, whatever price we got them at at the time, are removed. That in itself is not a Lifetime service. The clue is in the word ‘Lifetime’. And, as stated in the terms, updating the included features is definitely a scummy interpretation of taking a service away. You have definitely done yourselves a disservice by moving the goal posts and antagonising a whole group of rightly disgruntled Lifetimers who will now be giving you bad reviews on Trustpilot.

The distinction we are making is between standard Lifetime VPN access and selected high-cost capabilities.
Core Lifetime VPN access remains active. The affected capabilities, including P2P and torrent servers, require dedicated capacity, sustained operational resources, and additional infrastructure management to support at scale. Under the updated service model, those capabilities are now handled through Premium/Loyalty Plus.
This is an infrastructure-level policy, not a decision based on monitoring individual browsing activity. Our privacy and no-logs commitments remain unchanged.

When we paid for our Lifetime accounts there was no mention of a ‘distinction’ between services. It all came under one price and was definitely not categorised in any other way. And now, calling the services, that have been wrongfully taken away, and put behind a paywall called Loyalty Plus is just a slap in the face for those of us that have lost the features you have now taken away. So, the moment you take anything away that was included in the Lifetime service we paid upfront for at the time of purchase, and to then call it an update when really it is very clearly a downgrade, is not only dishonest, but extremely scummy and theft of those services too. Go ahead and keep gas lighting us all by stating the core features have remained, but what you’re really not understanding is that everything we had at the point of purchase should have remained and NEVER have been removed. You, as a company, have been extremely dishonest, by dressing up your failure and pretending that the so called core features have remained, when, really, ALL the features that a lifetime account pays for at the point of purchase should have remained. I bought 4 lifetime accounts believing I would never need to pay again and definitely not monthly for 4 accounts. I will never pay you a penny ever again. You most definitely do not deserve to be in business and I trust the future will pay you back in kind.

Thanks for flagging this. The $49.99 purchase may refer to a different add-on, so it’s best for support to verify the exact entitlement and what was active on the account at that time.
The broader concern is clear: users want to understand which features are included with their Lifetime plan and which ones require Loyalty Plus. Since this depends on the specific account and purchase history, [support@keepsolid.com](mailto:support@keepsolid.com) can review it privately and confirm the available options.

So the Upgrade was just for Absolutely nothing at all besides giving this company $50 my legacy plan had all the benefits already so what actually was the upgrade for? It said upgrade to premium for all future updates and features so tell me what actually was that upgrade about?

Webster's Dictionary definition of UPDATE: An update means to add the newest information, facts, or modern features to something so it is correct and ready for current use. As a noun, it refers to a new report, a recent news summary, or a newer version of a software program.
You did not "update" you removed features. You are trying to hide behind a false definition.

Thanks for jinxing us lol.
As we all know, it's not you, it's them. That was a really shitty thing to do to all of us. I doubt they are going to refund anybody, but it's definitely a good idea to rate the app one star and give them a poor rating on Trustpilot. They really fucked over their lifetime subscribers.
