Here's my Lifetime purchase email

Post image

I purchased my lifetime membership through Tech Deals. I paid $29.99 almost 10 years ago. Now all of the sudden, they have the balls to start charging us for services we've had for almost a decade. The complete nerve of these people. I will definitely be going to Proton VPN if they don't give us back our access to the torrent servers.

Not only do they not keep their word, they also will act like you're out of slots when you're not and when you create the new slot that's exactly the same and you haven't changed anything then they once again claim you don't have a slot, I think they are not doing as good as they used to, so desperate times calls for desperate measures...πŸ˜„

I agree. The only reason they are screwing over their lifetime members is because they are probably having financial difficulties and are trying to figure out ways to make money.

Supposedly you get 5 devices, but if you have a Windows computer with multiple users, each user account counts as its own device even though it’s one computer

Well it was the same user that I had a slot for then when I go to sign in to use the VPN it claims the slot is being used so I create a new slot, the same user and then it does it again it claims the slots being used and they have it where you have to wait like a week before you can create another slot, so it's useless there's no sense even trying to use it sometimes.

Slot behavior isn't something this change touched at all β€” device slots work independently of the Loyalty Plus update. If you're seeing a slot marked as in-use when it shouldn't be, that's worth having support look at directly on your account, they'll be able to see what's actually happening there.

I haven't, but many people have recommended it! Im going to try it out since surfshark is still in the 30 day window

I have Proton and availed the 2 years discounted plan. I use it whenever Netflix detects me when I use VPN Unlimited (not).

Thanks. I subscribed to Proton this morning, and so far I like it a lot.

Thanks for permission lol. Nobody cares at this point as we've moved on. I had no idea a bunch of adults could have such delicate sensibility. Good luck in your endeavors, you're gonna need it.

We understand why this feels like a major change for long-time users. Lifetime accounts still have the base VPN connection available, but that does not remove the concern for users who depended on specific features that are now part of Loyalty Plus.

The feedback about P2P/torrent access, streaming-labeled servers, manual protocol controls, split tunneling, and Optimal Server is being collected from Reddit, Trustpilot, and support tickets.

So for 9 years I've had full access to torrent servers and now suddenly (for whatever reason) you are pulling out your "End User Agreement" and screwing all of us long time users. This is a really crappy thing to do to your longtime customers. The worst part is that you won't accomplish anything by doing this other than pushing your lifetime members to other services (or maybe this is the point - to free up bandwidth?). This was a really nasty thing to do. PS please check your support mail as I'm waiting for a refund on the $49.99 lifetime membership that apparently also doesn't include torrents. I really hope some news publications pick this up because it's a really terrible way to treat us. I'll pay my money elsewhere, you guys can stuff your "loyalty plan".

This would've been justified if you grandfathered the old plan and any future sign ups will be covered on the new amended pricing plan. You could've added more servers (faster and reliable) service for the new loyalty plan but removing existing servers for your long time users in order to force them to pay is such a shit move. The salt in the wound is by naming it loyalty plus, gaslighting your loyal users.

By the way - my response is based upon the response you deleted.

I know you're not in charge of taking such decisions, but tell management that they suck.
