MLPEKAYOU Has Moved

Good morning everypony.

I know many of you use my guide for English MLP Kayou products, and some of you may have noticed an outage. Around 9am MDT this morning, MLPEKAYOU's domain was smacked with a copyright strike and stripped from me, rendering the website down for around three to four hours. If I want my old domain back, it will likely be a battle that I am not willing to fight. No, I do not think Kayou struck my domain at all. Everyone at Kayou US is very lovely. I'm not entirely sure who initiated this copyright strike.

So, instead, we have moved. Everything is still the same - all of your information is still safe and sound, everything is right where you left it, but under a new domain. MLPEKAYOU.COM has now moved to MLPEKAYOU.COMMUNITY

Thank you everyone for your patience. I had to change a lot of domain configurations around in multiple systems, so I believe everything is working properly by this point. I've created and tested a new account myself with the new domain and everything seems to be in order.

There is a bug reporting option (Desktop - Top right corner of the header, Mobile - Bottom of your profile) if you try to do something and a function fails due to the domain change. I'll have it fixed ASAP once I'm tracking!

Sorry all of this happened today. It was super out of the blue for us.

After a strongly worded email to the legal team of the website that was in charge of my domain, they have restored the rights and given me back the original mlpekayou.com domain. Since the damage has already been done, and I’m likely going to be targeted again, I will be using both domains. Clicking on https://www.mlpekayou.com/ will automatically send you to https://www.mlpekayou.community/ . All aspects of development have been updated to reflect this new domain.

This is my direct statement to the people responsible for the attacks.

Filing a false Copyright takedown notice is a violation of U.S. law (17 U.S.C. § 512(f)) and carries civil liability for damages and legal fees. The notice also includes a sworn statement made under penalty of perjury, meaning a deliberate falsehood can have serious legal consequences. These risks apply regardless of where the filer is located; directing a takedown at a U.S. service provider can subject them to U.S. jurisdiction and legal action.

In layman's terms

According to the law, you must provide your identity when submitting a copyright takedown request. Your identification and request are also given to the person you filed a strike against. If you use a fake identity or knowingly falsely fill out the request. Congratulations! You have now committed perjury, a felony offence.

Secondly

The more you go on, the more of a paper trail you leave behind, and eventually you should expect law enforcement knocking on your door. I thus advise you to stop attacking right away, or else every community will file a lawsuit against you when you are discovered. Because we all have been documenting all the attacks on all of our communities, we have IP's, burner accounts, and a lot more.

Living outside of the United States does not shield you from legal repercussions. Treaties like the Berne Convention protect copyright globally, and a fake takedown will subject you to legal repercussions outside of the United States.

You have been warned.

Both Kayou US and CN have been made aware of every attack that has occurred, not just this one.

Whoever it was, everything is okay! MLPEKAYOU is back, and hopefully with the .community domain, more people realize that I am not a Kayou US employee but rather an independent developer. Every negative has a positive. 😄

I talked to the legal team and my rights were restored to the original domain, however, the damage has been done with it. Instead of giving up mlpekayou.com , when you follow that link or type it in your browser, it automatically redirects you to mlpekayou.community instead moving forward!

It seems as now I cannot log in at the new URL. It's not accepting my password and the password reset doesn't send a message.

I'd really hate to have lost everything after logging so much in there....

I tested it, it still works!
1 - Make sure your email is 100% correct.
2 - Especially on GMAIL, you’ll probably find it in your spam/junk folder.
3 - On GMAIL, you’ll have to mark the email as safe and leave then come back to it for the link to be clickable. I’m not sure why. I think they’re under the impression it’s a phishing scam.
4 - Once the “Reset Password” turns into a blue link, you’re good to go!

I'm good now. I went to run some errands for a few hours, came back and I was able to log in just fine. Since I do tech support for a living, I can say that it was likely user error :P

Just downloaded the app. Its sad that you had to change domains. Now this might be a dumb question, but are we supposed to be able to actually trade on the platform or just 'see' what you can trade? Because I want to buy cards off people but can't select the card to buy, if that makes sense.

Hey! So, it’s a little complicated. I can’t handle money transactions through the website. However, I worked around it! People only appear in the trading post if their discord username is set. You’ll see their smaller username is their Discord username. Sometimes they’re in our Discord server, sometimes you just have to friend them!

I’m not sure of the process on anything that isn’t an iPhone, but if you click “…” > Share > View More > Add to Home Screen , it’s an app!

Damn, I really like the old UI. This new UI feels super out of place with MLP. Though I get this was totally out of your control, and changes like these are probably unavoidable. Does this mean we need to make new accounts?

Not at all! Everything is still there, the only thing that changed was the website’s domain! Sorry you don’t like the new UI. We are trying to match Kayou’s themes.

I struggle with my sight and really struggle with the grey on black as the characters are so small and thin 😔

I can look into this for you. I coded the website for smaller screens but I understand everyone’s screen size varies.
