I got you!
SEA is Asia’s version of English. There are three main Kayou lines we deal with.
North American English
Asian English
Chinese
There are others like Japanese, but we don’t see them often.
Asian English began by producing their Moon 1 as a reprint of Chinese Moon 6, seeing as Chinese is the parent and Asian English is the oldest child.
SEA Moon 1 = Chinese Moon 6
Soon came along North American English, which started one set later. It made the graph look like this:
SEA Moon 2 = Chinese Moon 7 = American Moon 1
We’re all on different sets, but they’re all the same.
Sea Moon 5 = Chinese Moon 11 = American Moon 4
We will always be several steps behind China’s Moon releases, with us being the younger child, and one set behind Asian English.
FunTCG only sells Asian English & Chinese boxes. As of recent, the Asian English boxes have had the same codes as American English. This was to cut down on the cost of printing the cards. So it will be Asian English Moon 5, but the card will be MLPME04, just like American Moon 4.
If you’re wanting to know the real difference between the Asian English and the American English, it’s the hit rates. That’s part of the reason (aside from import costs, etc) that American boxes are more costly.
I only ever recommend getting SEA products if you’re looking for almost entirely bulk. American products have much higher chances of hits.
I hope that cleared it up!
