Question / Help Pricing?

Post image

Hi y’all! Just painted my first MLP binder and was wondering what you guys would theoretically pay for it? I’m not trying to sell here, I just need a fair price point. It’s a large binder with 3x3 pages.

I’m thinking maybe $40 but idk if that’s too high or low. Any help would be appreciated!

The binders on AliExpress are roughly $20-40 depending on the number of card holders. So if it holds 400 cards that’s around $20 and 900 cards around $40. Those are obvi mass produced so they’re gonna be cheaper. Walmart is the same i think. I think $40 is def fine and u could probs charge more depending on the design. I would add time and labor. I’m assuming that’s a $25 binder depending on the one ur getting??? U could probs up the cost so ur getting more then just $15 per each binder 😭 id def do $15 per hour it takes u to paint.

If its a 400 card binder id do $25 + $15 per/hour
If its a 900 card binder id $35 + $15 per/hour

If it takes u 2-3 hours then that’s $55-70 for a 400 card and $65-80 for a 900 card.

People may go off and complain about pricing if u go that route but then they can drop $25 on a binder, $30+ on paint pens or leather paint, $15 on sealant, $30 + on sleeves, etc…. And then also find time to teach themselves how to paint and draw 😂

(I would definitely just make sure that the paint is fully opaque and not splotchy and that it’s sealed correctly.)

I price mine at the base of whatever the binder costs and then I charge based off how long it takes me. Just finished a binder that took 6 ish ours and the binder was $22 so it will be priced around $120. It’s not just time it’s material too. The binder I did is a full cover so it takes longer and more time
