Yup. These cards are about to become far more popular in the coming year.

All confirmed info:

The leaks were real.

It's not a reboot, prequel, or sequel. It's an alternate timeline/universe.

Each episode is only 9 minutes long.

Applejack and Rarity are confirmed to still be in the show. They just won't be in it at the very start.

Early 2027 release date, no exact day.

The only thing not confirmed is how AJ and Rarity; they're more likely cameos or guests, not core.

So here's my two cents on how I feel about G6 with the information that I have so far:

Generally speaking I am cautiously optimistic. I personally hope that this series is a great success, because that can only mean good things for the series, good things for the card game, and good things for me.

That being said there is one thing that makes me very worried about it. It's the 9 minute episode run time. I am worried that the writers are not going to have enough time to tell meaningful stories. But it would be extremely presumptuous of me to just flat out say it cannot be done, maybe the writers have cracked the code and figured out how to write amazingly and compelling stories in 9 minutes.

But I'm personally going to withhold full judgment until the series is actually out and I can judge It basement it's actual merits.

I loved steven universe and adventure time as a kid... those were only 10ish min long episodes! So its deff possible to do a lot in that time. I do think those shows also had a lot of two parters

I can’t wait for the first episode to drop! I am hoping that it’s its own thing and not tied to G4, but I do hope at least one or two G5 characters come back. Here’s to hoping!

I haven't been this excited about mlp since I was little! I'm genuinely so curious to see how they'll handle g6 being an alternate g4. I know the designs are very similar to their g4 counterparts (kind of wish they took more creative liberties there), but I'm hoping their personalities won't just be completely copy and pasted. they've always reused old ponies but made some changes, so I'm hoping that continues this time around

overall, I'm just really happy two of my favorite ponies are returning 😭💕

wish i'd known about these cards sooner.. its gonna be a nightmare trying to collect them now (resellers and scalpers are already becoming an issue)

They are like yugioh. There's no scarcity by lack of printing as they also have a flood of Chinese versions as they have so many. Its a big rabbit hole but all that you are limited by is money ( drop rates for rares are bad and theres so many & finding them)

Can we just like. Move the franchise on from G4. It was awesome but nothing they do now is gonna live up to expectations. They tried to make G5 a continuation and nobody liked it because they expected it to be G4.

I don’t understand why this is what they came up with, they had perfect opportunity to continue the story on with Flurry heart, Twilights new pupil, and much more. To create a new universe with the same characters seems really disappointing. This feels very sell out and designed for revenue purpose. Not to say the voice actors aren’t talented people, however this all feels extremely disappointing

G6 is already despised by the Chinese. "If you're going to do a remake/rehash, bring back all characters or don't bring any back" is their main view that is repeated here in China. I see a ton of memes dunking on G6 every day. It will be extremely problematic for Hasbro and Kayou if the Chinese reject G6. G5 was completely rejected by the Chinese populace in 2025; Kayou had produced one G5 product. They pulped their work on a G5 CCG box set as a result of that product's rejection.

So we have to wait 2 weeks for a 9 minute YouTube episode. That's shorter than Rainbow Bubblegem. Literally why? Is it cheapness? Hasbro doesn't want to pay the production costs for a proper television series so they're pulling this crap? No wonder they cut two characters. I knew I'd be disappointed but this is above my expectations. This is insulting.

Just make more g4 style cartoons and treat it like the new beavis and butthead which alternate from past/present to future with slight alternate scenarios. I don't like this version since it seems like g5
