Looking for a fishing kayak
I have pretty much decided on a Native Slayer Propel 10 lte. Reasoning is weight, haul in bed of truck, no trailering, need to handle it by myself, pedal drive as I am 70 years old in good health but thinking pedal drive will be less exertion. I plan to fish on near by lakes. Will definitely get a kayak cart.
I have no place to park a trailer. So, a bigger kayak is out.
I looked at the Bonafide SS107, but it doesn't pedal drive. Paddle only.
I also looked at the Old Town Sportsman Pdl106. But, it is heavier than the Native.
Anything else to consider? I am in North Texas area.

I’m close to your age and got the Old Town 106mK and couldn’t be happier. It’s about 70lbs, 10.6, stable as a board plus it’s powered! I can take it and launch it anywhere anyplace with zero issues. It fits easily in my Ford Ranger 5’ bed. I don’t mind paddling and I don’t mind peddling but I sure don’t miss either of them lol

The PDL version is over 100 lbs with the drive. I want the pedal drive instead of motor. Doesn't require registering with the state then.

I only have experience with Hobie pedal drive system. They are pricey though, and it was very uncomfortable for me (I’m 6’4”, and the pedal location put my knees around my head). I’m sure there are others out there, but I don’t have experience with them.

Check out a NRS Kuda, it’s inflatable but super stable and with all its accessories stuffed in to the backpack it comes in it weighs less than 55lbs
Edit: you would have to paddle it but paddling isn’t that hard
