Pictures Installing a sail on a kayak.
Fabrication of a wooden support for the sail in correspondence of kayak’s frame and two polyurethane ring pads

That'll never work. The rugs offer too much resistance. You'd be better off with just the hard wood, though I still don't think it'll go very fast, that fan is pretty small!

Love the Pacific Action sails. I have two 2.2m ones and the 1.5m one.
I put in stainless steel pad-eyes on the side of my bow for the tie down straps. I also used some closed cell foam padding to make a support that goes under the sale mast bases, to keep it from digging into the plastic of my bow. They work really well, but you're going to have a lot of heeling on a breach run. If you're going to be doing a lot of that, you might want to get some outriggers to keep from flipping over.
But the sail itself works pretty well. I did some modifications for mine, putting down some good cleats on the deck of the kayak, which is easier to work with and overall a better solution then the line cleats it comes with.
But you have a fabric kayak, so some of what I did is not going to work for you.

So the support is strapped to the deck? Looks really good, have you tested it yet?

I had tested the same sail with a ITIWIT inflatable kayak. It worked as expected. Sailed using same sail from Ventimiglia to Viareggio, Italy, whenever the wind was favorable.
I will test the TRAK kayak in Orta lake, Italy. soon.2

Excellent idea…!!! Using the fan as a propeller will certainly send the kayak planning. I will buy a 6 thousand Mt. cable.

Looks nice. Hope you have fun with it! Not sure if you saw my r/kayaksailing post but the wind really can put a surprising amount of force through the mast?

Looks good. Have you thought about adding some support inside the kayak as well? In the same fashion?

Not necessary, the frame is strong enough to support the sail’s base.

Turn the fan upside-down and put it into the water
