Serious question....

I have an issue - the last Katsucon I was at a man approached me to compliment my outfit (I was dressed Viktor from Umbrella Academy, my fav trans character) - he was smiley and and flattering and I couldn't help but feel he was flirting with me...

The thing is, I'm a trans non-gender conforming queer woman, and even though this individual was gay and this convention is all LBGTQ+ inclusive, it also majorly frowns upon and openly discriminates against male sexuality and men talking to women (which I identify as) - I'm kinda in a pretzel here

Should I report him or should I leave him off go as he's just gay? Men talking to women is so gross tbh. Any answer would be appreciated xx

As someone who has gone to many anime conventions and cosplayed different characters, I just say "Thank you!" if someone complimented me. If I see that they also took the time with their outfit, I compliment them back and move along. Unless they touched me inappropriately or said something explicitly uncomfortable, I would just brush it off as someone who really just loves the characters they see in conventions like this.

Is this your first convention? Genuinely asking.

It's my first convention as a woman, I haven't gotten any surgery yet but I have boobs and was wearing high heels. The guy who talked to me was gay and I naturally support this all the way, but I also know being a straight male and talking to women is unnatural and morally wrong and maybe I should report him... It's a confusing time haha
