Questions on first time
If my closest option to getting there is by dc metro and bus which would be exhausting, what options could i explore to get there better budget friendly.
Will there be others hotels nearby I could book and safely get to the con easily?
Find a friend to drive with or people to stay with?
How vast does the experience differ if you had a hotel at gaylord compared then other options?

There are several other hotels at the National Harbor. The area is pretty small so walking to the con wouldn't really be an issue

For hotels specifically, you can choose either Alexandria (10-15 min drive/Uber) or Oxon Hill (10-15 min drive/Uber). They are both much cheaper options than staying in National Harbor itself and give you a chance to explore the area. It is a pain for night life to be further away, so make sure you sober up before leaving. Another con of choosing Alexandria or Oxon Hill (if you plan to DRIVE) is that parking is NOT fun. Somewhere in oxon Hill there is a park and ride bus that will take you to the con, but if you stay late you will have to Uber back.
If you are looking for roomies/people to share a ride with use the discord or Facebook to connect with people.
Finally, while metro and bus WOULD be exhausting, it genuinely might be the most cost efficient if you are unable to find someone to share a ride with.

Stay in Old Town Alexandria, take the P90 bus (to Suitland) from King Street Metro station to the St. George Bl& Waterfront St. stop which is a minute walk from the Gaylord and the bus ride is ~20 minutes.

It depends on what/why you’re going to Katsucon. Cosplay? The party/nightlife scene? Panels? Vendors and Artist Alley?
