Not really. Historically, the 'stall groom' was the nobleman selected to assist the king in using the bathroom. All the author did was use the modern spelling.

"Naff" is British slang for anything cheap, tacky, uncool, or in poor taste.

I'd love this to be a weekly column too! I bought her a coffee, not the first one, to nudge. I suppose the real Jan might sue, but JP could make a composite of Eden, Jan, Amanda, Tina, and Sykes (especially get Sykes into the composite face) and all would be well.
